LOGAN, W. Va. (WSAZ)--Another march for Megan Williams is planned for Saturday, April 26th in Logan.

Megan is the young African American woman who was allegedly raped and tortured by six white people in Logan County last summer.

Four pleaded guilty and have been sentenced.

A group called the Black Unity Coalition is planning the march in an effort to get the trials of Danny Combs and Bobby Brewster moved to another county.

Combs' trial is scheduled for April 28.

Brewster's trial is scheduled for July 28.

Hi, apparently race is important, so I'm a caucasion american. For the people saying that they are tired of hearing about Megan, too bad, Deal. Sickos traumatized her. What if it was YOU? Don't base your vote on race or with a republican in office you can keep kissing our economy goodbye. We need a democrat ANY color. Why sit there and complain about a victim march. Someone mentioned Leigh, how about doing research and helping. How horrible that people can whine about a victim march. Btw, I hope the whole set of Sickos NEVER get out of jail. West Virgina must flat out BACKWARDS to be contemplating civil rights in "2008" and having race issues. Go visit a big city and catch up with the rest of America.

NO BLACK UNITY COALITION, the original inhabitants were the NATIVE AMERICAN INDIANS. BLACKY ITS NOT PEOPLE LIKE JOE THAT MAKE THE YOUNGER GENERATION THE WAY IT IS, ITS THE PEOPLE THAT DIDN'T MAN UP AND TAKE ON THE RESPONSIBILITY OF RAISING A FAMILY. IT THE PEOPLE THAT POINTED THE FINGER EVERYWHERE ELSE EXCEPT AT THEIR PRECIOUS INNOCENT CHILD THAT WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A THING. Jake THAT WOULD BE WHATEVER AND SUCKER, GOOD MAN DOWN NEED TO LEARN TO SPELL.

40 YEARS AFTER THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT INDIGENOUS BLACK PEOPLE IN WEST VIRGINIA AND AMERICA IN GENERAL ARE STILL FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE. WHAT HAPPENED TO MEGAN WILLIAMS IS THE LATEST EDITION OF A CONTINUING AMERICAN HOLOCUAST UPON INDIGENOUS BLACKS AND ALL NON-COLONIAL PEOPLE. SIMPLY STATED. IF THE BLACK LAWYERS FOR JUSTICE AND NATIONAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LEADERSHIP HAD NOT BOLDLY PERSISTED UPON CIVIL RIGHTS/HATE CRIME PROSECUTION, NO CIVIL RIGHTS/HATE CRIMES PROSECUTION WOULD HAVE OCCURRED, PERIOD. WITH ALL OF THE CRITICS, THE MEGAN WILLIAMS NATIONAL MARCH ON HATE CRIMES WAS STILL A HUGE SUCCESS IN PROMOTING A PROPER DEFINITION OF WHAT HAPPENED TO MEGAN WILLIAMS AS A CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATION. WE AS INDIGENOUS(NATIVE-TO-PLACE) BLACKS ARE ACTUALLY THE ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OF THE REGION YOU REFER TO AS WEST VIRGINIA PROPER. MEGAN WILLIAMS SURVIVED TO SHOW THE WORLD THAT AMERICA HAS IGNORED RACE CRIMES THAT STARTED WITH THE SO-CALLED DISCOVERY OF THE "NEWWORLD" BY A HALF-ORIGINAL

JOE, I SEE YOU THINK YOU ARE HIGHLY EDUCATED. USING TERMS SUCH AS COLOR CHART AND REFERING TO MYSELF AS BLACK IN A SLY MANNER. I DID NOT HAVE MUCH SCHOOLING AS TO I HAD A FAMILY TO CARE FOR BUT I AM FAR FROM IGNORANT JUST BECAUSE I SKIN IS DARKER THAN YOURS. PEOPLE SUCH AS YOURSELF IS THE REASON THE YOUNGER GENERATION IS THE WAY IT IS.

Charles Manson was right when he said we will have a race war,it is about 40 yrs late but it is coming in my opinion.....

There is more about Megan on the news than about Leah Hickman. Whats wrong with that. Girl was murdered, left in a crawl space and unfortunately there has'nt been one arrest and I havent heard a thing about it in months. Yet Megan is on the news every fifteen minutes with some stupid lawyer or someone crying about what happened. IT WAS A TERRIBLE THING THAT HAPPENED TO HER. NOW LET HER GER OVER IT. How about it people.

To Emily: I want to march with you'll also. Let's see if we can get Oprah, Regis & Kelly, Nancy Grace, Dr Phip and Maury to march with us.

Why is there a need to move the trial to another county? The other 4 that have pled guilty are in prison now, correct? So please expand the reason for the move. I'm just trying to understand the need for another Meghan march. Obviously, she was done extremely wrong. However, as many have stated, she's not alone in having had crimes against her committed. She's lucky in the sense she's still alive and able to go on and do something meaningful with her life. Many others never have the opportunity to do so, especially the children victims. I'm not trying to fuel an anti-meghan stance, but I just don't understand the constant need to bring this anguished young woman in front of the media bringing up the issues she's trying to get past. Am I wrong? She'd be better suited in front of a therapist and out of the publics eye for a while, if it's truly about Meghan. The other agendas maybe not so much, but again, this should be about Megan and nothing else.

I hope WSAZ films the "We're the white majority and feel discriminated against" parade. Wouldn't that be funny to see it on the national news. These morons would be the laughing stock of most of the country. I'm sure Mississippi and Alabama along with Georgia would support you. Seeing so many mullets and Dukes of Hazzard car replicas in one place would be a sight to behold. Plus, dentists would come in swarms to West Virginia to take advantage of all of the bad oral hygiene and missing teeth among the participants. That would be so great to see.

Why don't the white folks get together and have a march for Paul Blake who was run down in the street for trying to prevent a burglary by a cowardly "Buckwheat" wannabe ? COUNT ME IN !

Posted by: Jen on Apr 17, 2008 at 02:26 PM
MOVE ON ALREADY!!! This family just wants the spotlight.... If they would put this much effort into getting her help to move on with her life.. she's probably be doing great. Do they really care about her? I don't think so... they just want their faces on the news!! OHHHH... I'm so important.. I was on the news...

Blacky, maybe you did have a harder time coming up then I did, because we were on different sides of the color chart,,but I have sweated blood for .75 cents an hour but was just happy to have a job,,you will have to agree that we would hope the younger generation will never have to endure the things that we did,, nor could they handle it,, I cannot judge you because I don't know you,, but who knows if given a chance we might just like each other,,and I hope your next 60 years will be the best of your life

Or for the little boy who's daddy beat him to death. What happened to Megan is a horrible thing done by horrible people, but you can almost here the "cha ching" everytime you see her! C'mon people.....lets move on to those who have no voice to speak up for themselves!!!

I'm with the other people who agree enough is enough. It's like having a family member die and digging up their body every couple of weeks to remind everyone they died. What happened to Megan was horrid and disgusting, but they need to get some help, start to heal and move on with their lives. stop kicking a dead horse. We are sorry for what happened to you, but let it go!! its getting old and you are defeating your own purpose because people are sick of hearing about it.

Posted by: Lynne on Apr 17, 2008 at 12:55 AM
Where were all of the concerned black leaders when their own robbed and killed a white man in the parking garage near Chili's at the Charleston Town Center??? I guess it wasn't sensationalized enough. Also please do not forget. Megan had a long ongoing sexual affair with the Brewster boy, she was caught passing bad checks in Fayette, Raleigh Counties. She would leave and not be seen for weeks at a time. It amazes me how her now so called parents are concerned. If you had the opportunity to watch them on the Montel Show you could tell it was all for the money. Did Montel know the "real" background of how Megan behaved very badly before all of this and wasn't the little innocent vigin the family is trying to portray. Megan absolutely did not deserve this and people in this area only hope these people get the max. allowed by law in jail. They are very bad humans. But hate crime, no way. All crimes by definition are hate. Don't forget that some of us white people still like to have righs

Posted by: Just a Question on Apr 16, 2008 at 11:46 PM
Why is it P/C to state the woman is "African American" and the others who tortured her as white? Not all Blacks are African American. Some are Jamaican, Grenadian, and from a myriad of other cultures. Whites are from England, Russia, France, AFRICA, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Australia and many other nations. They talk about hate crimes, yet what about the hate crimes that are committed against Christians? A crime is a crime, and neither race, nor religion should make it worse than any other crime. Hatred and jealousy cause people to hurt others. I am tired of the race card that is getting played and how the Je$$e Jack$on$ make everything out to be about race. Those people perpetuate the racism and just breed more hatred. Enough already.

To: Linda on Apr 16, 2008 at 08:05 PM. It's WEST VIRGINIA and I am sorry for Megan's suffering too. I don't think these people care one drop for her. They are trying to call attention to their own agendas. If they really want to help her they'll leave her alone and let her heal. The people who hurt her are going to prison, end of story. Stop trying to make a buck off of this wounded girl. You should be ashamed for exploiting her. God bless Megan.

Posted by: cosmo on Apr 16, 2008 at 09:30 PM
ok, who is this Megan? and what happen to her again, I forgot it's been so long, and what are they marching for?, I don't get it. I wish I could have a march in my honor, I guess.

i have an idea. Let's have a march for those people who are sick and tired of hearing about this. I am sure the WHOLE state would show up!! Enough is Enough.

Posted by: Linda on Apr 16, 2008 at 08:05 PM
I don't live in Logan Co, Virginia, so i can not begin to understand the feeling of the residences regarding the amount of publicity Megan has received. What i can speak on is horror of the (alleged) acts puported on her. While you would like her to disappear so you can get on with your lives her's will never be the same, and if she has some diminshed mental capacity it will be even harder. For those of you who have children it would be like stealing their innocence. For those who have said "this is not a racial issue" , clearly it is because over half the comments posted are about race. What this should be a a human race issue. Why does it matter that the victim is black (African-America)and the supects white (Caucasian)? What should matter is there was A VICTIM!!! The nature of people that take advantage of others IS NOT limited to one race. The old saying "stick and stones...but words will never hurt" is wrong because I may not leave in Logan Co. but your words reached CA.

Posted by: John on Apr 16, 2008 at 04:56 PM
If hese so called racial justice people would get a job and a life, they would not have so much time to cause strife between all people of all colors and races. I am sorry, I forgot, agitation is their job. They have a vested interested interest in keeping racism alive. If everyone got along they might have to get a real job.

Posted by: Beth on Apr 16, 2008 at 03:30 PM
I think this is horrible no matter what your race is that is cruel and scary to know that people like that live near us. Those people need to be put away FOREVER! I'm sure people will be glad to beat on them in prison!!!

Posted by: Linda on Apr 16, 2008 at 03:25 PM
Most of the families in Logan County would have no association whatsoever with this Brewster family because they are well known in Logan County area for their troubled past history. What was this girl doing associating herself with these people. If you play with fire, you will get burned. No pity for Miss Megan, she had no business in Logan County with these people. Sure was asking for trouble!!!Where was her parents??????? NOW, Money!!!Money!!! Money!!!

Posted by: Anonymous on Apr 16, 2008 at 02:32 PM
Why didn't this woman leave when she had the chance? I would have walked 100 miles if I had to. Anything to avoid something like this. No its not right what happened and they deserve to be punished. But now she is being taken advantage of again but this time it is by someone of her own race. Maybe when the last two go on trial for this then maybe Megan will see some closure.

Posted by: Joe on Apr 16, 2008 at 12:07 PM
I for one am tired of all of this I do agree that what these people did was wrong but she did go there of her own free will and at the time her family did not seem to be that concerned about her but now with the thought of getting money from the bleeding hearts in this country or our wonderful court systems they are playing this for all it is worth and this kind of racial game that they are playing will in time bring this country back to the way it was one hundred years ago because I for one am getting tired of the news and blacks that seem to portray crimes against blacks as being so much worse then when it is blacks doing something to whites I know it will never happen but I would like to see everyone treated equal in this country but it seems that equal is not good enough for some I am 60 years old and have seen alot of changes in my life and it seems now that things are getting worse instead of better I wish everyone a wonderful life

Posted by: Exploitation of Megan is Wrong! on Apr 16, 2008 at 09:05 AM
All this so-called "support" for Megan is a lot of self-aggrandizing grandstanding by people who have their own agendas. If they were really concerned for her welfare they would allow her to get on with her life and healing, and not use her for their own selfish purposes.

Posted by: who cares on Apr 16, 2008 at 07:33 AM
AGAIN,AGAIN,&AGAIN. How many times are you going to march? It is great to show support to HER, BUT TO HER "parents". GET REAL. Where were they when she wandered off for weeks at a time as the so called mother stated? No where to be found. Then all of a sudden a thought hit her, she saw $ signs. This isn't about Megan, if it was, then she would have been taken care of better, her parents knew she was mentally challenged, this is about the money the parents are getting and I think they made enough off of her. She don't have her own money, it is to her parents for her????? The parents are getting profit br dragging Megan around and getting people to shell out the money to her. She deserves all she gets, but the parents don't need a penny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Posted by: Steve on Apr 16, 2008 at 07:15 AM
How is running to the streets every week to have another march helping Megan heal ? The Williams family must have already spent all the Montel Williams money or looking for another all expense trip to another talk show. They would feel more at home on Jerry Springer.

maybe we as fraud victims who pay higher bank fees and such should march as Megan is convicted of fraud and why isn't she doing her time? Just curious? I for one feel justice is being served in Logan County and if this racial trend toward the citizens of Logan continues then I can only suspect this is going to get nasty. I applaud the PA down there for a job well done - so let him finish his job. BTW even though she is a minority american does not mean she had any connection to the practices of slavery in the united states. However considering that this was an era that is 140 years ago why are they still bringing it up. Why aren't they suing ENGLAND as they introduced the practice and set up the economy based on it?

They will not give up till we give them everthing we have because someone in there family from generations ago was a slave.

I UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE ALL TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT HER. BUT THINK BOUT THIS, SHE IS STILL DEALING WITH THIS AND IT WILL EFFECT HER FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE. MAYBE SHE IS TRYING TO GET THAT MESSAGE OUT. EVEN THOUGH THE PEOPLE WHO DID THIS HAVE BEEN CONVICTED IT DOESN'T STOP THE PAIN NOR DOES IT STOP THE NIGHTMARES. SOMETIMES THINGS WE SAY ARE AWFUL AND THEN WE FORGET ABOUT ARE NOT ALWAYS SO EASY FOR THE VICTIMS TO FORGET ABOUT. IF HAVING A MARCH WILL HELP HER DEAL WITH WHAT SHE IS GOING THROUGH THEN LET HER MARCH. SHE ISN'T HURTING ANYONE BY DOING SO. WE HAVE TO REALIZE VICTIMS DEAL WITH THERE PAIN DIFFERENT.

Posted by: anonymous on Apr 15, 2008 at 07:53 PM
What happened to Megan was wrong BLACK,WHITE or any RACE! Any Violent Crime against an INOCENT VICTIM, no matter what RACE,would have to be some sort of Evil Hate! PEOPLE WHO COMMIT THESE VIOLENT CRIMES SHOULD, GET LIFE PERIOD, and LEAVE RACE OUT OF IT! That would help stop the RACIST STUFF,from everyone!

Posted by: green on Apr 15, 2008 at 07:32 PM
I know this is slightly off topic but I've always wondered why in news stories they make the effort to use the term "African American" instead of "black" but use the term "white" instead of "Caucasian" in the same sentence. Don't get me wrong, what happened to Megan was awful, and those six deserve punishment. This is just something I've noticed in the media. You should call things what they are, but if you are going to be PC shouldn't you go all the way? If you are going to combat racism, cover everyone.

I agree with everyone's comments here. Move on people! Forgive and Forget!

Posted by: Twilight on Apr 15, 2008 at 01:17 PM
I will start off by saying that I think what happened to her was horrible. Whether white or black, noone should have to endure something like that. Now on with the other part: Megan NEVER says anything when on TV with dear old mom. I believe that mom is just trying to see who else would like to book Megan on their show and how much more money they can get from this tragedy that has happened. I don't see any marches planned for Leah Hickman, Samantha Burns or for Paul Blake. These people have lost their lives in unfortunate events, people are grieving their loss but not trying to cash in on the tragedies that they are enduring.

Posted by: Annoyed on Apr 15, 2008 at 12:48 PM
Will the people of Logan never be able to move on? We are tired of the marching, yes this was terrible and the people are now being punished let it go. What point exactly is this march making? Probably the same as the other 30 they have had. And wow this girl never shys away from the spotlight does she?

I am so sick and tired of hearing about Megan Williams. There are babies being abused every day. When a child is abused or killed do we have a march for them every day? Look at national news just about every other day you hear about a baby being abused or killed and we are worried about Megan Williams who should be praising god she is still alive instead of making a spectical of herself.

I was just curious why it is called a hate crime when black people and white people get into some kind of trouble,,isnt hurting someone in general done out of hatred for that person. Yes I feel bad for this young woman and yes they should be punished but for goodness sakes drop it and let the law and the courts do their job. All these marches and political figures coming out of the woodworks acting like they really care about this girl is ridiculous. It happned there is nothing we can do but educate our kids to not be so ignorant as those people who administered this violence to this woman. But having all these marches and Al Sharpton and jesse Jackson speaking on behalf of a person they know nothing of, and if she isnt mentally capable of being out on her own and making decisions on her own then why did her mother and father let her out of their sight. Just let the courts do their jobs and keep Washington DC and other SO called activists out of the lime light .

This family and the black lawyers need to hang it up. The prosecutor in this town, who is btw out of the country serving ALL the people in Iraq has done a wonderful job for this young lady and the citizens of Logan county. Justice has been served and will be served. This girls family need to think about their lifestyle and their dedication to their daughter. Quit trying to get rich off your misfortunes your daughter suffered. God be with Megan, but this family needs help. That help will not come from the out-of-state, out-of-touch black lawyers.

If it happened in Logan then it needs to stay there.

Omg someone spelled white "wight"... you must be black.

Posted by: Anonymous on Apr 15, 2008 at 10:22 AM
Who cares. The only reason all of this is being done is because she is black. They sure wouldn't go out of their way for a white person. Who cares about the blacks!

Who Cares!!!!! I have heard enough about her. Yes it is sad, what happened to her was awful. The missing elderly couple Patty and Bill Frye are still out there somewhere. This is todays news, Megan Williams is well and alive and her story is a year old, why is it her story is still being covered but the Fryes has been missing for over a month and they are never mentioned any more. All they got was about three days of putting the story out there and then maybe mentioned a few more times over the next weeks. I think I speak for alot of poeple when I say, " I am glad Megan is alive and well but I am sick of hearing this story and on a further note its not about justice anymore its about the black power".

Give it a rest already. Why is there always a march everytime she sneezes?

WE'VE HEARD ENOUGH OF MEGAN AND THE BLACK LAWYERS,PANTHERS ETC. IF THE NEWS MEDIA WOULD QUIT MAKING SUCH A BIG ISSUE OF THIS, IT MIGHT GO AWAY. THESE PEOPLE WOULDN'T BE DOING SO MUCH MARCHING IF NO ONE WAS WATCHING.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am tired of hearing about Megan and her marches. I feel sorry for what happened to her and the people that were respon- sible need to do their time, but every other day it's MEAGAN, MEAGAN, MEAGAN. Enough already!

I am just plain sick of hearing about her ,get over it already!

OH for crying out loud! can you just leave it alone, how many Marches are they going to have for this girl. All they want to do is extend their 15 min. of fame. It's nto about what happened anymore its about what Megan and her family can get out of people.

She has been put out in the spotlight to many times. If she really does have a mental disability then her parents need to be checked on by social services. This is abuse, ever march or mention is a reminder to her of what happened. If her parents were fit to be parents at all they would have been worried about her when she was gone for that long, a little late to worry after the fact. And before anyone starts yes I do understand that this is an adult! They stated that she had some mental issues, if thats the case her parents should have been watching her instead of sitting on there a**! Now all they can think about is all the "fame" she can bring them.

I have read many articles on this story and it is such a tragedy. In my opinion, they did not to this to Megan because she was African-American, but because she was a vulnerable, trusting young lady who just happened to be black. This entire group was nothing but filthy trash and its hard to tell how many people(white and black) that they have tortured, if the truth were to come out. I hope that Megan can overcome this ordeal and get past what happened to her. She has to be having nightmares. I hope that all who participated in this rot in jail.
