JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Deputies in Jackson County, Ohio, say it could be the biggest pot bust they've ever seen.

Now, nearly a ton of marijuana is off the streets, and five people are behind bars.

Wednesday a trucking company in North Carolina called the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and told them a large amount of pot was hidden in an inflatable slide.

The 975 pound inflatable was supposed to be delivered to a Jackson address, but when officers looked into it they found more than just a toy.

"After the scene was secured another tractor trailer showed up, for the same address. We asked the driver for the bill and what it was and he said it's another blow up toy, 975 pounds. So we had a dog hit on it and low and behold we have almost a ton of seized marijuana," Jackson County Sheriff John Shasteen said.

Jackson County deputies drove to North Carolina to confirm their suspicions and then allowed the company to make the delivery. That’s when the made the arrest.

In Ohio it's actually 3 1/3 ounces and a $100 fine. That goes for possession or cultivation.

Posted by: to the truth on Apr 22, 2008 at 11:11 PM
dont know where you get ur info but it is faulted how do u figure the govt gets more money busting and fining people for mj in ohio u can possess up to 1/4 pound and it is a hundred dollar fine no jail time but if u do have enough to get put in jail it cost the tax payers $70 a day to house them. now if they tax it like cigs which bring in billions a yr how does spending 70 a day times say even 10000 inmates which is a low # equal more than bringing in billions someone has feed you full of false info do a little research before you speak of something you have no knowledge. of and the way it usually works most of the people arrested for big amounts dont get home confinement so instead of paying $20 a day for the box they are sent to jail and it cost 70 to keep them

Posted by: to parents on Apr 22, 2008 at 10:54 PM
see this would not and should not concern you if you do your job and raise your kids right. that is the problem people think it is the laws job to keep their kids off drugs. if parents do their job instead of expecting the cops to do it then they could use their time stopping real crime like murder and robberies but no parents today are to busy to talk to their kids about drugs then when they try drugs its the dealers fault. if these dealers have access to your children then you need to make sure they hang out elsewhere. you dont see dealers begging kids to use drugs if so it would be so easy to catch them they dont run sales and advertise it. so do your job talk to your kids and teach them about drugs then if they use its their own fault. there has to be a demand or there would not be a supply. its a lot of pressure and not being able to handle it should be considered child abuse. and if you do your job you wont have to worry about drugs and this case would not even matter to you

Sadly, the money it costs taxpayers to keep prosecuting "potheads" and keeping them in jail is diverting funds from being focused on real crimes. A family of 4 was killed by a repeat drunk driver in the past few days because of lax enforcement by our justice system. Sadly, many of the citizens of our country would choose prosecuting a person for marijuana possession than for driving drunk. It is all about the government propaganda: they think because marijuana is illegal that it is worse. Alcohol is legal, though not driving while intoxicated, but the stigma with drinking isn't the same as with marijuana. Over 70% of those incarcerated in our country are for simple marijuana possession. When you read the newspaper (or this website) and comment that law enforcement is doing a great job busting these "hippy potheads" just be aware that the next time you drive you should be careful and the drunk drivers.

I have a teen daughter, thank God this is off the streets, I just hope something is done to these dealers other than a slap on the wrist and then let back out on the streets. I hope they don't end up like the guy who had the DUI's if he would have had the proper punishment maybe the father and his two children would still be alive. We need to do some cleaning up in our neighbor hoods and highways. We shouldn't have to worry about drug dealers and drunks. Just think how many lives they affect and ruin with their foolishness.

I just dont see marijuana as something real bad. Some thing to think abot is how there is no mention of more genocidal drugs inside the trucks. In Example; There were no reports about them having any meth, crack, coke, heroin GUNS or any other of the more genocidal drugs. One must figure then the drug lord that owned a ton of pot had to make a ton of money in the pot biz while having a few moral standards .the last i heard the USA was in debt 77 TRILLION $! lolz it will take more than $4 a gallon gas to get those figure down. Tax the hippies and not the blue collar! I think if marijuana should ever be legalized the time is now.

The amount of thc in a standard blood drug test shows the amount consumed in the past 30 days unlike the tests used for alcohol or even for cocaine or other hard drugs which test the last 48 hours. THC amount in the blood is not a reasonable test to determine impairment of motor skills since the person could have smoked 20 days prior to the test and have no impairment whatsoever. Anyone who tells you otherwise is grasping for straws in the whole keep it illegal government campaign.

Not only tax money made but tax money saved from tax payers to lock up and keep stoners in jail (win/win). I am glad to see some people like to think for themselves rather than believe every word they hear as gospel. What I would really like to know is...How does Marijuana impair your diving other than it makes you drive 25 m.p.h. slower than you normally would. Have you ever seen a stoner get in a fight or get violent? I cant say I have ,,,, Unless there is only 1 twinke left. (sarcasm) Yes cannabis does have some bad side effects but so does sugar if you use too much. Thats all I have to say so the Holy Crusades can now continue on as sechluded.

The U. S. researchers, even in the first paragraph of the study, were quick to point out that the effects of marijuana, even in high doses, never caused the subjects to pose a safety hazard to themselves or to other traffic. The U.S. and Dutch researchers both used actual driving conditions for parts of the study, with no fear of the consequences. Why? Is the threat of marijuana mostly an imaginary threat? The possibility that governments world wide will soon begin to arrest and fine drivers specifically for the offense of having smoked marijuana in the last 30 days, even though the official government research shows that marijuana produces short lasting minimal impairment, well within the range of accepted legal pharmaceuticals, is another poorly reasoned response to a possibly non-existent problem. People who are planning to be irresponsible in one area of life, may be irresponsible in other areas.

"... Of the many psychotropic drugs, licit and illicit, that are available and used by people who subsequently drive, marijuana may well be among the least harmful. Campaigns to discourage the use of marijuana by drivers are certainly warranted. But concentrating a campaign on marijuana alone may not be in proportion to the safety problem it causes. ..." The maximum road tracking impairment after the highest THC dose (300 ug/kg) was within a range of effects produced by many commonly used medicinal drugs and less than that associated with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08g% in previous studies employing the same test. It is not possible to conclude anything about a driver's impairment on the basis of his/her plasma concentrations of THC and THC-COOH determined in a single sample. - U.S. Dept. of Transportation http://www.iowatelecom.net/~sharkhaus/driving.html

Posted by: Okie on Apr 21, 2008 at 10:04 AM
truth, you should change your name. There is no scientific measure for the amount of thc like there is for alcohol. If you are basing your opinion on the guy saying he smoked that is a simple excuse for his erratic driving. It was more likely to be illegal prescription drugs. Provide a link to that story if you would. I will forward it to some scientific journals. They will be interested. Since you can't I'll assume you are a cop or government official with reason to perpetuate the fraud that is the drug war.

Posted by: Hopeful on Apr 21, 2008 at 03:42 AM
Wow! Can you imagine the taxes the government could get from allowing this to be sold legally? It would probably be enough to get us out of this recession.

Posted by: Saul on Apr 21, 2008 at 03:41 AM
dIaNNA, you could become famous if you published on a study on your "findings." The government has been trying for years to prove some type of connection between marijuana and accidents and have fallen short. For one, there is no accurate way to study recent marijuana consumption like there is for alcohol. I'm sure the world would be interested in how an LPN has solved what government scientists have worked on for years. You might make a lot of money from publishing your study and can retire to the French Riviera where you'll see Justice Spike Maynard and Don Blankenship frollicking hand in hand in the ocean.

Hey dopers, talk to the family that lost 4 people near huntington a few years back to a driver who was high on marijuana. He crossed the median and hit them head on. You piece of trash, tell me that marijuana doesn't kill! Get off your knees hippie.

Well the doctors, lawyer and police you know that smoke pot are still breaking the law and they should get the same as anyone else. Anyone stopped and thought how much money this guy and other drug dealers are making and not paying taxes on it? they make more then most of us. by the way people who smoke pot and drive do get DUI's just on that. no alcohol.

Posted by: Anonymous on Apr 20, 2008 at 09:38 PM
I can tell you that there are many many doctors, lawyers, police officers and politicians that smoke pot. How do I know? I know many many many through the years that have. I love the way people sit around and act like it is the worst thing ever. I would much rather my kids smoke pot than drink. I know the effects of alcohol and would never wish that on my worst enemy! No one has ever overdosed on pot!

Posted by: Seth on Apr 20, 2008 at 03:31 PM
Sue, pot doesn't kill brain cells. If so, tell that to the doctors in California that suggest their patients take it for pain. I trust the opinion and scientific knowledge of doctors and scientists more than you.

Dope dealers are too lazy to work for a living and most smoke it and are too stupid. I know this makes you mad but it is true that pot kills brain cells & sooner rather than later it is apparent. Why would you want to do something to yourself that puts you in a stupor that renders you useless to anyone, including yourself. Dont bother to reply, you won't change my mind.

Laura: One of my best friends died in Jan 2008 from lung cancer. Never smoked a cig ever. Doctor said it was prolly from the pot that he smoked for 30 years. To the person titled "Hey Bev"- yes I have heard of tobacco, and just because it is legal doesn't mean it is safe. If you would actually READ the Bible you may be amazed at what even YOU could learn.

Posted by: Laura on Apr 19, 2008 at 07:32 PM
to Posted by: Bev on Apr 19, 2008 at 12:15 AM...no i have to say honestly I've never heard anyone say they had pot lungs lol. that's the most ridiculous comment I've ever heard and have you read info from the national cancer society and how pot reduces breast cancer? fact not fiction. And honestly I've never heard of anyone diagnosed with cancer that caused by pot.

Posted by: Tom on Apr 19, 2008 at 06:35 PM
to Wayne CO. are you serious you think pot does not effect your driving???? why do people get DUI's on MJ then? and you actually think you can do something just as good or better high then you could with out MJ? well the real hard core MJ people will tell you how much better they work or think on it. If they have a job. Also MJ might be a plant and come from the gound and all that but so do other things. Poison ivy comes from the ground so i guess its ok. Cocain is a plant at first so its ok also. Hemlock is also a plant so why dont you all make your self a cup of tea with that and tell us how it taste and how we should all do that to with pot. you pot people are nuts.

Posted by: Hey Bev on Apr 19, 2008 at 05:58 PM
Just so you know... There is this legal smoke called tobacco and it has many (if not more) of the same properties you said about cannabis. Here is the kicker,,, You get a good feeling from cannabis as to where cigarettes do nothing of purpose. And since you know all the TRUTH then could you be so kind to tell me who documented all that fiction about the Garden of Eden when they were just two (2) uneducated people in that garden. If you want to read a REAL book let me suggest "The Emperor Wears no Clothes".

Larry, did you not read that there were two trucks with 975 lbs each?

Posted by: Bev on Apr 19, 2008 at 12:15 AM
LARRY- the way I read the article there were 2 trucks weighing 975#. If my math is correct that is 1950#. Am I reading it wrong??? To CURIOUS- After the fall from the Garden of Eden there "arose thorns and thistles". So everything was corrupted, even the vegetation. Just because it comes from the earth doesn't mean it good for us. Heroin comes from a plant(poppy) as well as digitalis(foxglove). Too much digitalis will stop your heart and we all know about heroin. Pot gives you asthma, emphysema and various types of cancer. Has anyone ever heard the expression "he has pot lung"? You can laugh and tell yourselves that pot is not harmful all day long. Some of us know the truth because we have been or are still suffering from pot related diseases.

Posted by: kj on Apr 18, 2008 at 11:55 PM
Larry, how sad is it that you posted you mathematical calculations and say that no one has commented on this when you apparently didn't read the previous comments. The math calculation is old. Been done. You're dumb.

Posted by: Larry on Apr 18, 2008 at 11:26 PM
How sad is it that no one has commented on the fact that a ton is two thousand pounds not a thousand. So this bust was actually less than half a ton. But Math in the media is not exactly considered an exact science. The people reporting this are the same people who over react to and exaggerate everything else.

Posted by: ManDee on Apr 18, 2008 at 11:14 PM
All i can say is WOW!!! In my opinion, They need to hurry about all the other drugs that are out there killing people and ruining lives instead of this.

Posted by: Anonymous on Apr 18, 2008 at 10:50 PM
I find this funny that they say this bust will put a hurt on the biz in this area.Breaking news WSAZ South Eastern Ohio,Eastern Kentucky and South Western WV is the one of the largest if not the largest pot growing area in the United States.A few year's ago pot was Kentucky's largest cash crop. And was a 5 page special in Maxim Magazine on this area a few year's back. And on the radio they said everyone in Kentucky could smoke a joint a hr for the whole year and still not smoke all the weed that is grown in the state. And you can go about anywhere in the states and bring up the name Meigs county and any pot smoker will tell ya where it's at or they have bought dope from there.

Posted by: Curious on Apr 18, 2008 at 10:27 PM
to one of God's Children. Yes I have read in the Bible at Gen 1:29-31 how God has given all vegetation bearing seed to man for his use. Ezk. 47:12 ... leaves for healing. Are you saying God didn't make this plant? If you are where did you get this idea. Also sounds like you are spittin a lot of HATE in your comment to be one of god's little children. Do you not think it would save a lot of tax dollars and get rid of the pot trafficing if you could grow your own in your garden or on your terrace.

The government makes way more money busting people for mj charging them big fines and doing them a "favor" by putting them on home confinement and charging them 20$ a day for 6 months or so for the H.C. box and services than they could ever make taxing mj and making it legal.

Posted by: JustWandering on Apr 18, 2008 at 07:33 PM
In reply to the post from "one of gods children" YOU need to read YOUR bible, the first page to be exact, Genesis Ch1 v29: "And God said behold,I have given you EVERY herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of the earth...." If you realy was one of gods children you would not wish bad things on your brothers and sisters. Some people talking bad about marijuana users are big fat glutins with stoped up arteries; How many people die of heart disease and stroke each year? Marijuana has never killed a single person in history. As with anything, use it but don't abuse it.

In this country, on our currency it states "IN GOD WE TRUST". God makes a plant, we make the plant illegal. This country does not trust God, but I do. They need to concentrate on what is legal, like alcohol, those 4 people would still be alive today that were killed. My mother and 5 other family members were hit by a drunk driver in the middle of the day the day after Thanksgiving. 287 deaths per day are contributed to alcohol, someone stoned barely wants to turn the channel on the remote. They say it's a gateway drug, it is your choice!!! Makes you want to ask yourself, why would politicians legalize alcohol and not marijuana?

Jackson res, the smoking and selling of marijuana by others will not harm your child in any way. I'm not sure why you think it would. It doesn't negatively impact driving, doesn't cause cancer, and isn't a gateway drug as the latest independent tests prove. Drugs are bad, mmmkay. Pot is a plant.

Posted by: voice of reason on Apr 18, 2008 at 04:56 PM
two points: A.) 1 ton of marijuana will have no worldwide effect on availability. B.) Next time a family is killed by a drunk driver, I would like to see the same type of responses to outlaw alcohol. It seems absurd to question the morality of marijuana simply because mainstream society does not accept it's use. How can something(weed) with minimal recorded fatalities be considered so unacceptable, while alcohol, with infinite deaths and injuries, remains legal?

Posted by: To one of Gods children on Apr 18, 2008 at 04:43 PM
Do you read the bible, didnt God make all the trees and plants and said it was good. Stop passing judgement isnt that what God is for.

quit fooling yourselves "this is a major pot bust good job guys!" this is a VERY MINOR pot bust. its a waste of time, money, and effort to go after this, sure they "got a ton off the street." as they were doing this I bet another few tons drove right by them. its a downhill losing battle. the only thing that ruins a marijuana users life is the ridiculous, bigoted, racist laws that make marijuana illegal. Also, its real useful to call everyone who's arguing about this a "hippy" and just further the stereotype that marijuana users are unmotivated, homeless people who do a bunch of drugs. I know plenty of successful people who use marijuana recreationaly. and they are far from being a "hippy."

Marijuana WOW an herb or drug? It was only outlawed in this country in 1937 because the government wanted to send some Mexicans back to Mexico. It has been used fo 5000 years for is medicinal purposes in Ancient Egypt. I wonder what would happen if the US GOVERNMENT would allow anyone who wanted to grow their own for their own personal use. Then help the FDA to concentrate on th Rx's and real street drugs that shut your organs down and/or kill and ruin your life fast. After all God made marijuana and made made drugs and alcohol. WHO DO YOU TRUST.

I hate to break it to you, but marijuana is for the most part a harmless PLANT. Alcohol is more dangerous than weed yet alcohol is legal and our prisons are filled with pot smokers. Isn't that a bit strange? Why not just legalize it, tax it, and focus on the drugs that are more harmful, like certain pharmaceuticals that get prescribed like crazy. The whole 'war on drugs' is a waste of time and tax payer money. It will never end and it does more harm than good. The alcohol prohibition failed, and I do not see any improvement on these conditions. They will never get better till people stop being ignorant and realizing you're fighting the wrong fight.

Destroy 4:45, I would think you have got it right. How long has and how much of this has been going on? And nobody knew anything until resently? Maybe they all got in a fuss over who was getting what, then started fighting. When these kinds of fights keep getting louder then we hear about it.

Posted by: Jackson res on Apr 17, 2008 at 10:13 PM
I find it interesting that some say that the law enforcement need to go out and find "the real bad guys". As a resident of Jackson and a mother of 2, I believe that these are bad guys. I think that the individuals that believe they are not are either not parents or just shouldn't be. I am very pleased that the opportunity for this to reach the streets where my children live, go to school and play was sidelined.

This is not crippling it is bait has everybody fell and hit their heads to much talk of legalizing pot so what do the dealers that want to continue to make big money do u feed the war on drugs and these back water towns a big bust every once in awhile to make them think they are great and are winning the war so u can keep making the big bucks some place else do u realize this amount would actually cost about 200 a pound when buying in bulk if that much so the cost would be $390000 hardly a lot of cash to the big dealer and it is probably trash weed the good stuff was probably delivered 70 miles away while everyone was busy jumping thru hoops about this bust or maybe it keep the heat off rt 35 long enough for the next 50 kilos of coke to passby wonder if the every heard of diversion tactic and knowing the local law bet they never thought of that but would you trade $390000 to make sure you could make a 1.2 million seems like a good trade off to me

Posted by: Paul on Apr 17, 2008 at 09:15 PM
4th Grade indeed. Perhaps the reporter had his/her share. Nearly 1/2 ton, would be correct. Or did each truck have the same amount. A bit vague there. Would benefit many if sold to people who are prescribed this medication. From the trucking company, the Police Dept, to the already rich Rx companies. Let's sell this, and use the dollars to fill in the lost tax dollars from the proposed tax relief for gasoline and deisel. Never ever discard money. This is already for use, no cultivation needed. Would liked to have seen some close up photos of the product. At minimum the dollars could be used to go back into the drug task unit to help with the CRACK epidemic that is poisoning all point of life in our hometowns

Go do some real police work. There is not a shortage of violence based offenses last time i checked. I have no doubt the bust resulted in "the best dough nuts they had ever eaten", but seriously...go get the REAL bad guys, huh?

Posted by: hmmm on Apr 17, 2008 at 04:14 PM
so officers will drive all over the usa, set up a huge operation, only to lock up some folks for pot... meanwhile there are murders and dangerous robberies almost weekly in these parts and there's still many murderers walking around free and uncaught!! Weird, Weird world......

They ruined a 4/20 party in Athens! Can you imagine all those stoners sliding down a big inflatable? That would've been a sight to see.

You no who, i never attended elementry school. Obviously you did since you put "no" instead of "know." Sadly, that was the extent of your educational experience.

Now that's alot of weed..Enough to smoke on from now on. Where will they be burning this at, I'd like to be hiding somewhere and get a whif!!

Posted by: Anonymous on Apr 17, 2008 at 02:51 PM
To those who wanted to know the peoples names. They are Roger and Ronnie Baisden and 2 foreign guys. I live in Jackson Co. and it is in all the newspapers and people are talking about it around town. I think this is great. I know we have neighbors whom we believe deal drugs. These people have a supplier somewhere and maybe this was it. They have cars coming and going all the time around the 20th of the month, every month. There are many people in Jackson CO. now upset and saying that these guys are great guys and that may be so but they did something wrong. Most of these people were probably druggies themselves. We need these drugs off our streets. This stuff is going way to far. It doesn't matter the tonage amount. These guys got caught doing something that is illegal and they should have to pay for it. Great Job Jackson Sheriff's Dept.

Posted by: Where's Frank? on Apr 17, 2008 at 02:17 PM
Where's Frank when you need him? WSAZ has some errors in their article! Barney... you can put the bullet back in your pocket now!

Posted by: You No Who on Apr 17, 2008 at 02:10 PM
Most of you guys are very stupid.ok One truck (975lb) one truck (975lb) = 1950lb = About ONE ton. So I think most of you guys need to go back to elementry school.

Posted by: Thanks! on Apr 17, 2008 at 02:08 PM
I was wondering where I had hid it! I am so glad you helped me find it!

Posted by: MW on Apr 17, 2008 at 02:07 PM
Wow, a ton of pot off the streets, so now the price goes up on the stuff and the increased value leads to increased violence. Stop the drug war. Drug abuse is a MEDICAL issue. Why does this country insist on fighting unwinable wars with the incorrect tools. Holland has a lower drug use rate because they keep it legal.

Posted by: Tom on Apr 17, 2008 at 02:06 PM
They Should leave people alone. This was supposed to be a free country. All You Nosy People should stay out of other peoples bussiness. stop wasting money busting pot heads and feed the homeless and save room in the prisons for pedifiles, which get turned loose everyday so theres room for potheads. i can see these redneck cops now braging about what I call ripping someone off. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!!!!!!!!

This was a part of a big business..I would like to know where it come from who shipped it and who the receivers were. They were probably a part of government, will all of this futher information be kept quiet? This involved a lot of growers, shipers, handlers, retailers and managers. WSAZ you need to make a follow up story out of this one and follow it. The Citizens and taxpayers need to know.

Dear Red Rover, You may need to read the story again. The second truck was picking up the load from the truck initially carrying the pot to take it to NC. There were not 2 loads...Sherlock.

Posted by: jme on Apr 17, 2008 at 12:43 PM
no red, matt was right. 1 ton = 2000 lbs

Posted by: NORML on Apr 17, 2008 at 12:41 PM
PROHIBITION DOES NOT WORK! What will it take for people to realize that we have been repeating history. Those who are pushing the "war" on drugs will see this as some great victory, when the only reason this marijuana was found is because someone decided to tell authorities. The problem we've been facing is that this "war" on drugs isn't reducing drug use and is in fact enabling the blackmarket and drug lords to thrive in their business. Drug use will never be eliminated and we need a better way to deal with it, like TRUTH in drug eduaction, decriminalization, and treatment for addiction. www.NORML.com

It was for medicinal purposes I'm sure, lots of glaucoma in that area you know.

"Posted by: Matt on Apr 17, 2008 at 11:01 AM If you'd read the story Sherlock, there were TWO trucks with 975 pounds, which equals 1950 pounds... 50 pounds shy of 2 tons. YOU are an idiot." 2000 LB = 1 ton not 2 tons as you stated. Matt you are the idiot here. However, it is a lot of weed!!!

Posted by: BCD on Apr 17, 2008 at 11:31 AM
Sherlock: 975lbs in the first truck... then a second truck showed up... read more carefully before you pass judgement.

Posted by: C on Apr 17, 2008 at 11:31 AM
Boy, that's a lot of smoke. It was 1950 pounds, just short of 1 ton (2000 lbs) When they destroy that ( burn it ) the birds will fly sideways for a week. Good job!

Posted by: Anonymous on Apr 17, 2008 at 11:23 AM
Matt...before you start calling names, maybe you should go back to school, all Sherlock did was misunderstand the story, but after criticizing him - then calling him an idiot, you made a fool out of yourself. A ton equals 2,000 lbs. But nonetheless, a GREAT job done by the authorities, sounds like they nailed this one, hope the judicial system does their part now.

Posted by: DLM on Apr 17, 2008 at 11:22 AM
This is to Sherlock, there were two! trucks with 950 each, do the math, that is 1950lbs. total! Who needs to go back to the 4th grade? The reporters does a great job Keep up the good work reporters.

Posted by: Becky on Apr 17, 2008 at 11:20 AM
Matt, you took the words right out of my mouth. Sherlock needs to brush up on simple math.

Posted by: Matt on Apr 17, 2008 at 11:01 AM
If you'd read the story Sherlock, there were TWO trucks with 975 pounds, which equals 1950 pounds... 50 pounds shy of 2 tons. YOU are an idiot.

dang boys good job!

Posted by: Anonymous on Apr 17, 2008 at 09:33 AM
only 975 pounds?? We need more people like the workers of that trucking company to believe in the local police agencies so we can help them out a little more. More often than not, the public knows more about whats going on the reactive police police departments..good job everyone involved.

Posted by: foxy on Apr 17, 2008 at 09:32 AM
why are the arrests not mentioned? who was it? and are they still in jail? did they even go to jail? sounds like a felony to me

Posted by: Sherlock on Apr 17, 2008 at 08:26 AM
975 lbs is not 'nearly a ton' since a ton is 2000 lbs. 'Nearly a half-ton' would have been correct. Maybe your reporter needs to go back to 4th grade where they learn units of weight.
