UPDATE 10/23/12 @ 11:25 p.m.
RUTLAND, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The small town of Rutland looks a lot like Mayberry. But for Donna Dassylva, the last 12 months have been anything but.

“I'm living on top of this,” Dassylva said. “I'm scared every night to go to sleep. I don't know if I'm going to blow up or not.”

Dassylva says she started suspecting drug activity at the house across the street about a year ago. Then Monday, there was confirmation. Meigs County Sheriff's deputies found 39 shake and bake meth labs inside.

“I think there's a lot of denial in the neighborhood that, oh it's like Sesame Street,” Dassylva said. “It's beautiful. This is small town. Well, no it's not. Open your eyes.”

Deputies arrested two adults: Ralph Day Jr. and Stacy Williamson. Williamson's 10-year-old son also was inside.

“It was really scary to know that something like that has been going on,” neighbor Mary McKinney said. “Knowing that I had let my granddaughter go down there and play with the little boy.”

For this neighborhood, the bust is small victory. Dassylva's waiting to see what happens next.

“If they just slap them on the wrist and turn them loose, they'll be cooking it again by what ... evening?," she said.

Something she says she's not going to let happen.

“I am a nosy neighbor,” Dassylva said. “I admit it, I am. Because I want to be safe. And I will speak up. And I am not afraid. And I want them, and I've told them: I am not afraid of you.”

She hopes others will speak up, too.

ORIGINAL STORY 10/23/12 @ 5 p.m.
MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office says it has busted its 17th “Shake and Bake” meth lab this year.

The latest bust happened at residence on Nelson Road in Rutland Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Robert Beegle says that inside the house and garage deputies found 39 one-pot vessels.

Sheriff Beegle say deputies arrested 32-year-old Stacy Williamson and 35-year-old Ralph David Thurman Jay Day, Jr.

Both are charged with illegal manufacturing of meth in the presence of a minor and are being held in the Middleport Jail.

Because a child was at the house, Child Protection Services was called to the scene.

Middleport Officer Ricky Smith and Athens County Deputy Jim Heater were called to cleanup the scene.
