CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man from St. Albans is charged with attempted murder after he threatened to kill another man.

The incident happened around 9:00am Friday morning in the 2100 block of Washington Avenue in St. Albans.

Police say James Albert Dunlap, 31, climbed in a window of his ex-girlfriend's house and pulled out a knife and threatened to kill her new boyfriend.

Dunlap was taken to the hospital for minor injuries from the fight.

Once he's released, police say he will be charged with attempted murder and entry without breaking.

The Police needs to get SERIOUS and get ALL the ATTEMPTED MURDERERS in Saint Albans. The case of the child who just turned 15yrs old, almost 3yrs ago should have been throughly investigated, try Attempted Murder maybe Twice, and upon DEATH Murder. Oh! by the way this child looked forward to graduating this year! A great child,kind respectful,sharing,helped people with their computers,roofs,helped neighbors carry things when needed, and worked to get extra money to save,because he wanted to. This child had goals in life! Do the Police OUESTION this and want Every Lead, Any and All the Information they can get???? The INOCENT bright eyes, sunshine smile and laughter,and up beat spirit, that had a way of making you happy is GREATLY MISSED by Every Member in the FAMILY!

It's sad, but what you say is truth. I've personally been told to try to scare the person trying to break into my home, with only me and my children in the house, away and hopefully my husband would be home soon. Way to Go Scioto County.

He is to young to realize how people really are ,see he thought this relationship was for keeps but he has to grow up now & realize no one keeps their word anymore & in today's world that is accepted & protected. Today's relationships are only for profit ,has nothing to do with the heart. Just the way it is. Why would he want her anyway she is with other people?

There is a huge difference from state to state. If this would have happened in the state of Ohio they would have told the lady call back after he kills someone. Im glad atleast the state of West Virginia takes action when needed.
