WITTENSVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) -- No phones, cable, or internet service can be a real pain, and it's a reality for a couple thousand people Saturday Night in Kentucky.

A fire at an apartment complex is the reason why. It melted the lines that provide those services. Kentucky State police say it's all because of the work of an arsonist. They aren't releasing anything else other than to say the Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator is now taking a closer look.

The fire broke out around 5 a.m. Saturday in Wittensville. That is in Johnson County, Kentucky.

Blue and red flames were shooting out of the apartment when fire fighters got on the scene.

People who live there say the fire started on the second floor.

All of the people who lived there are safe but their apartments and everything inside are a total loss.

While crews were fighting that fire another building about 100 feet away also caught fire. No one was injured and the building is only damaged on one side.

Cable, internet, and phones are expected to be back on Sunday.
