3:42 Update
LOGAN, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- Senator Clinton says we're going to get back to what worked in the 1990s, when Bill Clinton was president. Says it's unfair for a millionaire to pay a lower percentage in taxes than a teacher, nurse, truck driver or coal miner in Southern WV.

3:33 Update
LOGAN, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- Sen. Clinton says she wouldn,t be doing this is she didn,t believe she is the person who can beat John McCain in the fall.

3:31 Update

3:15 Update
LOGAN, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- We're hearing from a lot of people who say Senator Rockefeller and Congressman Rahall are traitors for not sending their Superdelegate votes to the candidate who wins the popular vote in WV. We're told Sen. Clinton will be here soon. Loud music is playing, and the Logan High cheerleaders just led the crowd in some Hillary chants.

3:02 Update
LOGAN, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- The middle school gymnasium in Logan is packed with an enthusiastic Hillary Clinton supporters. She has not yet arrived for her rally here.

1:31 Update
CLEAR FORK, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- Hillary Clinton started her day in the small Wyoming County town of Clear Fork, for a "Solutions for America" town hall meeting at West Side High School. The event started @ noon. The earlier event in Montgomery was cancelled because of widespread power outages.
Hillary is running about an hour late to her first scheduled stop but the crowd is excited about her visit to their town. Students, community leaders and curious onlookers have been chanting "Hilliary" and doing the wave as they await her arrival. There are a few Obama supporters here who will travel to Charleston to meet up with him there. They just couldn't pass up the chance of seeing her in their school. Even the cooks here at Westside are excited about having the opportunity of cooking for the Senator and possible next President.
Mrs. Clinton's talk of clean coal technology drew big cheers from the crowd.

Garner some reading comprehension and you will see that I did not give Clinton credit for the .com how could we he used Al Gores plan to allow commercialization of ARPNET. I do know my stock market history and my government history that is how I make my living and not by reading the press but by working the floor. And 8:01 is correct in the fact that Clinton signed the legislation into law but the law was passed in a congressional majority leaving a new president vulnerable. So 1:16 do you still live here if so then you must know why Obama was not carried in this election? If you don't then I doubt you are an average citizen or a republican who knows best.

Posted by: Obama came by on May 14, 2008 at 05:45 AM
and we had to leave our pool hall so they could stage a scene of him enjoying the locals at a place we frequent. The owner was so embarrassed that Obamas campaign people insisted that we leave and not the secret service he asked them to get it over quickly. This is the kind of person we want to run our country - comes in and takes what little entertainment we have away so they can stage all is well in WV. I am glad they voted in Hillary in this state as I imagine she did not do the same to the places she visited.

Posted by: It's like this on May 14, 2008 at 05:41 AM
Republicans and Obama supporters - we have the right to vote for whomever we wish. That is a right given to us by the constitution and if you feel you must abide by the media and their wishes then lets hope Larry King will run for you next election and that you can all have talk shows to straighten out the economy. Cry babies and worry worts - afraid she is the real candidate here and I am from Illinois and I for one will not vote for Senator Obama - read his record on the hill - until he decided he wanted to be president.

To 8:23-The .com stocks did do well into the century, but that had nothing to do with Bill. However, check the archives of the Wash. Post and New York Times for July -Sept. of 2000. You will see that we began a decline at that time and some even started to warn of recession. Bill just happened to be in the right place at the right time for the .com phenom. To 8:01- He HAD to sign it? I guess that's why Hillary claimed it to be "his greatest work" then. And which is it? Condemn Bush #1 for cut and run, but insist from day one that Bush #2 do it? And by the way, I am a WV. Born and raised, so you can take your cry of "stereotyping" somewhere else.

Her victory speech before commenting!!

Posted by: They agreed on May 13, 2008 at 08:34 PM
TO NOT CAMPAIGN in those states not to nullify the votes there - get the facts correct - the media has brain washed your minds. Also note that Obama pulled his name from the ballot in Michigan because he thought he could not win so therefore how could he gain these delegates when he is not a candidate in that state? He can't! What worries Obama supporters about this scenerio is the fact that the remaining Super Delegates could in fact vote the way their citizens wanted them to and doing the math as presented by the DNC could be in in Hillary's favor like it or not.

Posted by: Brain get your facts correct on May 13, 2008 at 08:23 PM
The markets prospered until Feb of 2001 that is fact - I trade in them daily - if you are referring to the NASDAQ crash of 200-2002 then you may want to let people know the truth as it was called the .com bust and it crashed due to the fact that most equity in those industries were not traditional and held high promises for those involved and when several went bankrupt it started the trend or .com bust. AND THAT IS FACT the rest of the market did well so Brian get your fact straight and btw the jec warned of this when the .com trend started in the mid ninetys. BTW those misspelled signs in Logan may of been a play on Manchins treatment of the people in Southern WV, ever go to figure those people may have a higher intelligence than you give them credit for there Charles Manson? Taxes and Insurance promises he made when he came to office are killing the people of this state all the time he worries about the signs entering the state and changing their pictures hen he changes his hair.

Christie since you speak evidently what you do not know I will educate you. She does in fact know where WV State Route 10 is and spoke about how dangerous it was when she was traveling it. So please if you do not know then don't make a fool out of yourself.

We do not need interpreters nor do we need WV wannabes coming in here telling us that our state is more primitive than others. If you so feel our state is more so primitive you may want to visit several statistics concerning our great state and not listen to your rehashed stereotyping of a great state. Sure the politicians here cannot get over anything but the coal industry and their greed but the people in this state are by far producing as well or better educated individuals than I can say statistically 39 other states in this nation. We were ranked 16th in education by the USDOE and number one in technology available to our students and citizens on a per capita basis. So go cry you stereotyping Obamanation hick tale somewhere else this river is already full. Brian and Angela the Cole and NAFTA were products of the first Bush - Bill had not choice but to sign it and then come in office it was law, after desert shield after he cut and ran when we had the chance the first time in Iraq

She doesn't know(or care) where Rt. 10 is.

GOooo HILLLARRRRY!!!! You GOT MY VOTE THIS AFTERNOON!!!!!!

Posted by: Mike on May 13, 2008 at 02:23 PM
Hey Angela, If you are so hung up on HILLARY, you might want to learn to spell her name.

Posted by: To Angela on May 13, 2008 at 01:44 PM
She can't even run her own campaign within budget. She has loaned the campaign over $11 MILLION DOLLARS. That hardly qualifies her as a "Economic GURU" Heck, it doesn't even qualify her as merely competent. And as far as Canada's universal health care-it's a DISASTER. Seriously, do some research, overall, it's horrible. #1-It has to be paid for and who do you think will absorb the brunt of that burden? #2-They will tell you what Doctor you can see, what medicine you can take and that will be final. Now, who do you think gets access to the best Doctors and the best treatments, and the best medicines. I'll give you a clue: It's not going to be us. But if that's what your looking for, people cross the border every day.

Bill cleaned up after the first Bush did he? Was that by tackling that pesky employment rate with NAFTA , or was it the irritating characteristics of morality, loyalty, honor and professionalism which have been associated with the office prior to Bill? Or perhaps it was the respect we actually lost within the world when we were attacked at the U.S.S. Cole, or the embassy in Africa and instead of doing something stupid like past Presidents and retalliating, Clinton straightened up the mess with idol threats. And then there is that confounding economic fiasco where Reaganomics turned the tide of the country, only to have Bill "straighten that up" too. Check your facts. Bill signed NAFTA into effect-Fact. Bill made us a laughing stock through extramarital affair-Fact. Bill never ONCE backed up his threat to "hunt down and punish"-Fact. A sharp decline in the economy began in July 2000, 6 months prior to Bush's inauguration.)-Fact. Don't spout, look it up!

Posted by: Jim on May 13, 2008 at 09:57 AM
She's a liar and not even got the sense to know TV news keep tapes to show the truth.Of coarse she can do like Bush did, fool the West Virginia voter, with his lies.Do you really think she's out to win the nomination?Or make Obama lose the Presidency vote if he beats her!Or as more and more of Her supporters has said"I'll vote McCain if she don't get it"That way she thinks she can try again in 4 years,Just as Bush use to say he was a uniter and wasn't,SHE IS THE DIVIDER!

To RC: I didn't say Manchin was supporting Obama, I was saying that people at the Hillary rally in Logan were holding misspelled signed where THEY THOUGHT Manchin was supporting Obama. Maybe you read the posted comments better before adding your two cents.

Posted by: peeved on May 13, 2008 at 05:21 AM
RC is right.Manchin HASN'T said endorsed anyone yet.He unlike the trators Rockefeller and Rahall are has decided to wait until ALL West Virginian's have spoken and allowed us to have our say before using his Super Delegate powers to back anyone! Hopefully he (Manchin & others)will do what J and Rahall SHOULD have done and use his SD vote to back who THE PEOPLE from our state want and not use it for their personal interest and gain! I've had the utmost respect for Sen.Rockefeller for years but his actions have left a bitter taste in my mouth. Ive had enough of others deciding our Presidents for us! What use is it to vote?Someone needs to remind J and Rahall they were elected to represnt US,NOT to use the office they were elected for thier own agenda. I don't know about anyone else, but J Rockefeller nor Nick Rahall speak for me. If I even had an inkling to vote for Obama if Clinton would lose.I surely WON't vote for him now!Remember this when casting your vote for US Senator Tuesday!

Posted by: Brian on May 13, 2008 at 03:04 AM
It took a Clinton to clean up after the 1st Bush, it's going to take a Clinton to clean up after the 2nd Bush!!!

Posted by: Logan Resident on May 13, 2008 at 01:38 AM
It amazes me that my hometown spends more time cleaning up the city for a Massey Energy Outing than they did for Sen. Clinton, Logan need their priorities straight.

Posted by: Angela on May 13, 2008 at 01:20 AM
I think Hilary is exactly what we as a country need. She has admitted that she doesn't yet know all the answers for every one of our many economic problems, but more importantly she wants to find the answers and put forth the effort to see the resolution of these problems. To me that's more than any other has tried to do. Also for her health care reform, I think its a great idea. Canada has one, it works rather well. It's not perfect, but its something. Speaking as a mother with 2 children with no health insurance because we fall in the crack of making too much but not enough to afford health coverage, we need a Universal Health Plan. I think that Hilary will micro manage everything, and that's exactly what we need right now, we need someone paying attetion to the little people as well as the bigger issues at hand.

This woman will stop at nothing to regain the White House! She does not care about the common man, if she did, then how could she in good conscience sit on the Board of Wal Mart? She refuses to admit that the better candidate will win, instead choosing to exploit her anticipated victories in heavily racist and, by today's standards, more primitive states with the stance that by winning these TWO states, she's back in the game. Please, pull my other leg. This woman will bend any rule that does not work to her favor, yet still says that she has morals? She agreed in the beginning to discount the voters in Florida and Michigan as a penalty for moving up primaries, yet now that she is losing or could lose, wants those votes to count. This is the most illogical politics that I have seen yet! This woman will stop at nothing to gain access to the White House again, including splintering the Democratic party. I would love to see a woman president, but absolutely NOT her!!!

Posted by: Booger on May 13, 2008 at 12:49 AM
The best person for President isn't running any more do due reasons he (John Edwards)only knows. That being said I listened to Sen.Clintons answers and they seem to be honest and straight forward but can she back them up? Words are cheap putting them into action another thing. I have also listen to Sen.Obama and to tell you the truth I have yet to hear anything that he has said that would work. We need healthcare, we need someone that will take on the oil gaints and we need someone that has a vision for the future. After all that my vote will be for Sen.Hillary Clinton. I would also like to say that if Sen.Obama does get the Dem. nomination I will vote Rep. in the General Election!

I am thrilled to be able to see Hillary and Bill Clinton. I saw them in Huntington WV during the l996 campaign. I have already voted for Hillary in early voting. She should be our next President. She knows her stuff, she's brillant and would be ready on day 1. I could write pages of reasons why she is the best choice for President. Obama does not care about WV. Donna Brazile, member of the rules committee with the DNC, says he does not need the white middle class vote. We will see. He does not and will not have my vote.

Posted by: Fran on May 12, 2008 at 10:50 PM
Listen to the interview..she has answers..listen to them honest..straigh--forward answers..be open to listening..she knows what to do for this country..no uuuhhh..hhmmm's..but answers to this countries problems and plans...She gets my vote..Go Hillary!!!

I thought Hillary coming to our area was wonderful. I would like to know her comments on Rt. 10 from Oceana to Logan WV. Will teachers get the pay that we deserve? Finally, we as AMERICANS need to stand together about the gas prices and cost of living!

Posted by: Winnie on May 12, 2008 at 06:59 PM
I was hoping to see a video of "Hillary" at the Methodist Church. My sister-in-law told me about it who still lives in the area. I caught the last few seconds of it on national TV. I would like to see it. One of my good friends got married in this church. I have been gone for almost 46yrs.

Tyler, where did you hear that our Govenor was supporting O'Bama? Don't think so.... He will be with her this evening in Fairmont. Maybe you shouldn't worry so much about the spelling, and work on getting the facts right about the endorsement.

Posted by: Jim on May 12, 2008 at 06:28 PM
What with getting all the white working class and white Wv. and Ky. voters she can divide the party more than anyone has ever done in the past, yeah for McClinton

Posted by: TYLER on May 12, 2008 at 06:06 PM
How embrassing to see signs in the crowd at Logan from voters who are upset that the governor supports Obama. It is spelled MANCHIN and not Mansion.

I'm a freshman at Westside High School in Wyoming County. Seeing Hilliary come to our school it was very amazing. Nobody ever comes to our county that is as important as her. Iy was a thrill. Its like our county don't even exist. But this will get a little attension. Thank You Hilliary Clinton!

Posted by: Paula on May 12, 2008 at 03:45 PM
I think she needs to stop by the hospital at Logan since it is the only one around...alot of hardworkers would love to hear her views.
