CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Monday was Barack Obama’s first visit to West Virginia since March.

There was a lot of excitement from Obama supporters to see and hear from the senator.

One thing is clear for both supporters of senators Obama and Clinton: there is a lot of passion involved with this historic primary.

The excitement comes from every age group, but for older votes: this battle is about the unimaginable.

A black and a female candidate fighting for the nomination is a sign of how times have changed.

Senator Obama's speech today focused primarily on veterans.

He said America needs to take better care of them.

Senator Obama's main purpose for being here of course is to rally support ahead of tomorrow's primary.

Monday in his speech he downplayed expectations.

He says Senator Clinton will do well in West Virginia.

Chick, Arab refers to those from Saudi Arabia. Saddam Hussein wasn't Arab. Osama Bin Laden is/was since that is where he is from-Saudi Arabia. Osama has never been to Saudi Arabia. You could be meaning muslim, but this has been proven as a lie passed along by supporters of the Clinton political machine. Nice try though. Oh...you really thought that...Don't believe everything you get in your e-mail box. And no a rich relative did not die and leave you money in another country. Don't give that person your bank info.

Mike, nice way to sound tolerant of Obama. I don't buy it. First, Obama has more political experience than Hillary. First Lady isn't an elected office. Second, I don't find it odd that Hussein is his middle name. It was Saddam's last name. When Obama was named Saddam wasn't the leader of Iraq. Hussein is like the name James where Obama's father was from. Third, the covering of the heart was during the National Anthem, not the pledge. I don't put my hand over my heart during the National Anthem and 75% of those attending national and local ballgames don't either. Fourth, the Rev.'s comments didn't seem all that untrue when you hear the comments in context and not just a snippet. The U.S. is inciting hatred in the Middle East by occupying land all in the name of oil. We're talking about since the 50s, not the "war" in Iraq. There would be an uproar if Russia stationed troops in Israel to protect the world's gefilte fish supply.

Obama has no experience is representing our country.. I hope he loses. Hillary would be the best one to get us out of the mess the republicans have put us in. Keep voting them in if you want to cntinue to put all your paycheck in your little gas tank and if you don't want our troops home!! Go away you ARAB! We have enough foreigner's populating out AMERICA.. we don't need one running it!

I like Obama for his positive attitude but he doesn't have the experience to be President. For the person that says you can't even talk about black or white in this election, thats what this has partly been about. I find it odd that a presidential candidate has the middle name Hussein, has been photographed in Muslim attire, wouldn't cover his heart during the pledge, and altough I was impressed with how he handled the Rev. situation his personal spiritual advisor can be considered anti-american or perhaps a racist. I think that all of these things combined with the fact that he has minimal experience in the Senate and lack of a military background make voting for him an idiotic decision. Hillary would make more since if democrats want to stand a chance in the end against the best qualified candidate John McCain.

JM, this is what I've said all along.. He's just playing this thing to get votes from Black Americans. This race thing isn't the important part in this election.. Look who is supporting him and will be looking for the control of what he does as president. Have you noticed that when all of these big supporters of a president gets together they put their guy in ! ! How could a peanut farmer get elected nationwide if he wasn't put there.

It is truly amazing that Barack continually takes the high road and can find the humor is this election. What a commendable way to go and such a great spirit he exudes. He has so much class - one doesn't find that too often these days in politics or anywhere else. A previous comment may need some correction -biracial, black, white, asian, and arabic are all ways to describe individuals, none of which are negative unless used in such a manner. I am a white, church going, 43 year old female from rural Ohio and I am full of hope about his chances to lead this country. Fears abound, take a deep breath. "There is nothing to fear but fear itself." If you were hanging off the side of a cliff ready to drop, he would not hesitate to pull you up, despite your color.

I find it to be a little offensive that Obama doesn't feel it is important to meet with the people in WV and KY like Clinton has done...maybe we are not important

I was hoping that Obama could bridge the gap and bring people of different color together. The more I learn about him, the more I am convinced he is part of the problem, not the solution. I will not vote before I cast a vote for Obama.

for the record, Obama is not black, he is arab. You have to be at least 12% to claim a nationality. He is only 6.5% black and therefore cannot claim that title. His father was the last in his family that could claim that. Dont beleive me....look it up on google.

I think it's wonderful that the passion for two highly qualified individuals has sparked record highs in voter turnouts. I'm glad to see the respect with which Sen. Obama speaks of Sen. Clinton. GO DEMOCRATS!

Obama predicts Clinton will win West Virginia. How smart of him to figure that one out. West Virginia is 95 percent white. Oops. I don't want to be labeled as a racist. What a shame. You can't even speak the word "black or white" in this election.
