Are you kidding me? If anyone should be held responsible it should be the mother not the driver this is the problem today parents are keeping track of their kids they dont teach them safety. The boy should not have been crossing 2 lanes of traffic and a median and then 2 more lanes. He was asking to have an accident. We know he didnt cross where everyone is supposed to "in a crosswalk" we know this because the mother herself said he crossed the median, well there is no median in a crosswalk. She is looking for money. She wants someone to pay for her stupidity and her children not just one but both. She needs to be thanking her lucky stars it wasnt both boys. Im sure this isnt the end of this story. Somehow discrimination will come into play or she will just file a lawsuit against the driver. Just watch and see. Greedy people. I gurantee we pay for her kids anyways.

Sorry about your cousin, but to blame the driver and to say they say this child is not right. You make it sound as if this was done on purpose. If your cousin was under adult supervision this may not have happened.

First of all..I want to say I hope the child, the family and the driver involved I know this was a terrible accident I see kids all teh time riding down this busy street with no supervision and this is what happens when there is not enough supervision. second, how old was this child and why was it in the road and not on the sidewalk ?

I pray that the child is ok, but where was this child's parents? Why do people just have kids and turn them losse, they need to get the child, teach it right from wrong and teach it about God. Parents let their children do what they want so they won't have to get off there behinds and look after the children, If people won't teach their own children righ, the the world will teach them everything they need to know about the path that leads to destruction.

This has nothing to do with living in Charleston, Sarah, but more about teaching our kids bike safety and a reminder to all drivers EVERYWHERE that the warm weather brings bikers out and to share the road. Pray for the child and the driver who probably was just trying to get home after a long day at work and The Kan Blvd is very busy around five o'clock! We should all pay more attention!
