HUNTINGTON, W.Va (WSAZ) -- A Huntington man has been indicted on a negligent homicide chargesin the hit and run death of 49-year old Paul Blake of Huntington.

A Cabell County Grand jury found enough evidence to say that 23-Charles Lee Woods, Jr was the driver of the car that hit Blake.

According to a police report, the incident happened last month in the 800 block of 26th Street about 2:00 on a Saturday morning

Huntington Police say Blake was hit, dragged and run over by a car. They say the driver then took off. Blake died later at a Huntington hospital.

Police arrested Woods a short time after the incident, and after a short police chase.

He was originally arrested on charges of fleeing and leaving the scene, along with drug charges.

At the time, an eyewitness told WSAZ.com that Blake was just trying to stop a possible burglary and was deliberately hit and killed.

Huntington detectives also told us at the time, there were 4 people were in the car when Blake was hit. So far no one else has been charged in the case. .

This story is not used to for you to get to the cops that was not charged for something. It is used for something to tell about what happened to this guy and I'm glad the guy is gonna be charged. I didn't know him but my mom is friends with this guys brother and knows him. So please show some respect and not use this as a passive agressive way to get to someone. Thank you. I know Paul will surely be missed a lot. Bad things just happen to great people but I believe he is in a better place which is with god in heaven

I am glad to see that Paul Blake's death will be answered for. I do not know if Charles Lee Woods, Jr is the man responsible, but he'll get his day in court to address this. It is such a violent way to die and if it is true that this was intentional, then I say that if found guilty, Charles Lee Woods, Jr, need never see the light of day again. I doubt he would because of the extenuating circumstances, ie killed during the attempted burglary, drug charges and the later evading and fleeing from police. How sad that Paul Blake was killed in this manner and what a waste of a young life if Charles Lee Woods, Jr did in fact do this. My prayers go out to the families. I hope that justice is served.

this guy is indicted but the ironton cop is not. tell me the cops are not above the law.

Mr.Woods, if you would have been a police officer in Ironton, you would have gotten away with it.

Maybe he should move to Ironton Ohio, and then get a badge, then he can walk free, isnt that the same thing that happened....
