BOSTON (AP) - Doctors say Senator Edward Kennedy has a brain tumor, a condition that was discovered after he had seizure over the weekend.
Kennedy was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital on Saturday after becoming ill following a walk with his dogs at his oceanfront home on Cape Cod.

Kennedy's doctors say he will stay in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for the next few days as they consider a course of treatment for his malignant brain tumor.
Additional testing is expected to determine the specific brain tumor type. The average survival rate ranges from less than a year for the most advanced and aggressive cancers to about five years for slower growing tumors.
Doctors say the 76-year-old Democrat has had no further seizures and "remains in good overall condition and is up and walking around the hospital."
White House press secretary Dana Perino says President Bush was "deeply saddened" when he heard of Kennedy's tumor. She adds that Bush will "keep Senator Kennedy in his prayers."
United States Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) issued the following statement:
“I know that if anyone is going to overcome this illness it will be my friend Ted Kennedy. He’s the original fighter and will face this challenge with the same tenacity he has shown in the Senate for the last 45 years.
“Ted is one of the most caring, genuinely thoughtful and brilliant men I have ever known. Many know him as an icon of the Kennedy family, but I know him as a warm and gentle soul with a big heart and a feisty sense of humor.
“Sharon and I, and all of West Virginia have an enormous and deep affection for the Kennedy family. Senator Kennedy has been a friend to West Virginia since the early 1960's – he truly loves our state and our people.
“Senator Kennedy, his wife Vicki, and their whole family will be in our prayers and close to our hearts.”
