BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A trip to Wal-Mart turned into a trip to the hospital for the Templeton family. A scorpion from Mexico found its way into a box of watermelons at the Wal-Mart in Barboursville.
William Templeton says his daughter, Megan, was in the produce department picking out a watermelon Sunday afternoon. The scorpion stung her finger and then hung on. She had to shake her hand to get the scorpion to let go.
William says store managers were very helpful. They even helped him catch the scorpion. He took his daughter to Cabell Huntington Hospital to see if she is allergic to the sting.

I am interested in the scorpion if you want to get rid of it. I have two emperor scorpions right now. I have one male and one female. My female is pregnant. I work at the barboursville walmart if you would like to contact me.
Hey Steve, I know that the family received numerous calls from the media and the news asked to come to them. As for ever hearing from them again, well that comment tells me that you don't even know them. And the point of the story was a scorpion in WV, which is not normal for the area. As for people out west laughing at WV, well thats ok. WV laughs at them all the time.
You people make me laugh!! Makeing fun of this situation that happened to this girl. I mean really how imature can you all be. If this happened to you or your family you all would be right there on the news too. And to the Wal Mart Shopper you said maybe they should give the girl and her family a umbrella and be done with it. Maybe they should give you one for being so imature and childish to write what you wrote. GROW UP!!!!!
