MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Eleven tenured law professors at West Virginia University say President Mike Garrison should choose the "path of honor" and resign before he does irreparable harm.

Professors in the College of Law, where Garrison also teaches, say he canceled a meeting with them to discuss the matter.

They also say Garrison has lost the battle for public opinion in the master's degree scandal involving his friend, Heather Bresch.

The professors, including Pat McGinley and Bob Bastress, says faculty are now ridiculed when they attend conferences with other academics. They say Garrison's continued presence damages the university and himself.

They say if he resigns, he would be looked upon as having sacrificed his personal interests for the good of the school.

Those of us who reside in Wirt County and have a satelite dish to receive TV signal, get our news and sports from the Charleston Huntington stations (my favorite being WSAZ) and would like to see more stories and reports from our area. WTAP in Parkersburg will not broadcast on the satelite dish's.

I am very happy to see my former law professors standing up for the integrity of WVU and the diploma that hangs on my office wall.

I think a broader invesigation into the matter would encourage his resignation. Shift the focus to the Governor's involvement and Garrison will jump fast. (or be nudged over the edge)

How many more people need to come to the plate to make this resignation happen. Perhaps Governor Manchin we need to make you disappear come November to get him out of there. Someone decide, this is not right. Mike Garrision RESIGN or let us voters in West Virginia take it out on you mentor, Governor Manchin! I am tired of waiting........ Signed, WVU Alumni

i think this is bs i dont like WVU and what happened was wrong but I am sure Garrison had no idea what was going on. It was prob. just some teachers or Deans that goofed up, unless he knew about it and didnt do anything or was diresctly involved they should leave him alone.
