HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- All the recent bad weather has done a toll on the local waters.
The coast Guard’s office in Huntington today said that the Ohio River is extremely high for this time of the season, and although the weather is supposed to be nice this weekend, they strongly urge boaters to think twice before getting out on the water.
“Tell someone where you're going, have a float plan, good communications, flares and life jackets,” Eric Denley with the U.S. Coast Guard said.
The Coast Guard also said to make sure your boat is well equipped because of the high water swift current and the debris.
