2012 Captial City Pumpkin Drop Winners Announced

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Hundreds of students from across the state converged in Charleston for a little fall fun.

The Capital City Pumpkin Drop took over Appalachian Power Park, but it wasn't all games.

The kids used math and science skills to design containers to protect a pumpkin when it is dropped from the top of a crane.

The overall winner of the pumpkin drop was South Charleston Middle School.

Most Creative Design - Riverside High School
