KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A former employee with NGK Sparkplugs USA in Kanawha County has admitted to using scrap metal to illegally obtain more than $390,000 from the company.

Samuel Olivio pleaded guilty to mail fraud Wednesday.

Investigators say Olivio admitted to stealing scrap parts containing platinum from the plant and was selling it to other companies that would extract the metal.

He will face up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on October 8th.
