CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- As the saying goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure. But the friends of B.J. Berkhouse say he is a treasure. That is why they hosted a rummage sale to get his medical bills paid. He has no insurance.

Berkhouse was hit by a car back in June, and two months later, he is still in the hospital. He was walking on Capitol Street when it happened.

"B. J. Berkhouse is the life of the party," Shelley Kelley, one of B.J.'s friends, said. "He's one of those guys that you just love to be around, and we're all just hoping that he's gonna get better."

The rummage sale even brought out strangers to help. Sarah Stover was one of them. "He's about my age, and it could happen to anybody," Sarah said. "You never know when that's gonna happen to you, and I'd just hope that they'd do something like this for me."

Pretty pathetic that the hospital or hospitals that treated him couldn't do probono work, that they could actually write off when they file taxes. Just goes to show how the medical industry doesn't care about their patients anymore.

Why would they not give the location of this sale to the public? If anyone does know the date and location of this sale please post it on here. Gives me a chance to help out and might find some neat things in the process.
