PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- An Eastern Kentucky man has pleaded guilty to paying winners at his video poker parlor.

State Police arrested Larry Adkins earlier this year after they say they found him paying players of his video poker games.

Adkins was charged with eight counts of promoting gambling. He pleaded guilty to those charges Friday.

Prosecutors recommended a sentence of one year probation. Adkins will be sentenced on October 10th.

It's illegal for a reason--it is addictive like pills or caffeine. You can go places legally to gamble, this isn't one. Speaking of that, we need pot cafes like in Amsterdam where you can smoke legally.

Pardon my ignorance...but this story lacks some journalistic integrity. It leaves readers scratching their heads and asking "So?" Are we to deduce that gambling and such related activities is deemed illegal in KY? Might help to review some journalistic principles and state such facts in future stories.
