Cabell County Sheriff's deputies and Deputy US Marshals are taking their battle against drugs to the home turf of Detroit dealers.
The fugitive task force went to Michigan last week and arrested three men for crimes that happened in Cabell county. Dimitri Thomas was arrested for selling heroine, while Sean Everett was arrested for weapons violations. They also arrested Andre Jones for selling cocaine. It's the first of many planned trips to round up people wanted on warrants from the Huntington area. There are already federal agents looking for fugitives in Detroit, but this effort adds more manpower to help focus specifically on West Virginia cases.
"With the US Marshal's service we have been actively going after fugitives, especially drug dealers," said Kim Wolfe, Cabell County Sheriff.
"In Detroit, Michigan the word is going to spread in that community that not only are we seeking them by calling and getting assistance from other areas. But we'll actually travel to that area to track them down," said Brad Sellers, Deputy US Marshal.
Thomas has already been brought back to West Virginia to face charges of dealing heroin. Everett and Jones are still in Michigan jails because they have warrants also pending there.
