CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A family in Charleston could know as soon as Monday whether the man accused of murdering their loved one will spend any time behind bars.

Investigators say Atsushi Watanabe punched and choked Scott Tucker to death in a night club in Azuba, Japan. It happened back in March.

Police charged Watanabe with Tucker's murder. Watanabe went on trial August 28th, and prosecutors expect a verdict Monday morning.

He faces three years in prison if convicted.

Tucker grew up in Charleston and had been living in Japan since he graduated from WVU 24 years ago.
