SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- West Virginia is getting its first Vietnamese cuisine restaurant, according to South Charleston city leaders.
Pho Vinh Long is set to open in October along D Street in South Charleston.
The restaurant will serve pho with rare and well-done steak or meatballs. The menu also features several rice dishes and specialty pork chops.
South Charleston leaders believe this is the state's only Vietnamese restaurant, but the cuisine is very popular in New York, Texas, and Florida.
The restaurant will seat about 30 people. It will also have a Vietnamese atmosphere, including bamboo floors.
A grand opening celebration is set for October 10.
Bob Anderson with the South Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau says a Jamaican restaurant is also ready to open.
The Jamaican Restaurant is along 7th Avenue. It's set to open next month.
Anderson says the two new restaurants will help the city offer more of a variety.
