UPDATE 6/16/06: John Amos McKinney turned himself in to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department Friday.
He doesn't even have a license--but police say he keeps getting behind the wheel, putting other drivers and anyone near the streets in danger. They’re asking for your help to put him in the back seat of a cruiser.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department has named John Amos McKinney one of Charleston's Most Wanted. Police say he didn't show up for court on May 3rd. McKinney is charged with driving without a license three times after it was taken away for a DUI.
In fact, police say he's been charged for three DUI’s since 1993. The first was in 1993, another in 1998, and the latest in 2001.
"His privilege to operate a vehicle has been revoked time and time again. Obviously, it doesn't seem to bother him," said Lt. Bryan Stover with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department. "We need to keep the motorists safe, we need to bring him in."
John Amos McKinney is 31 years old. Police say he might also go by the name "Dennis McKinney." His last known address is on Jarvis Street in the Crede area (near Pinch, just north of Charleston), but records show he's lived all over the county.
