PLEASE STOP THE IGNORANCE. It is just plain stupid to call all Muslims terrorists. We have a large Muslim community here in Charleston and they've never hurt a soul. How do you idiots respond to that? You people spewing hate and total ignorance are the reason that the rest of the nation sees WV as a bunch of dumb hilljacks. It is beyond embarassing.

Geesh. You are doing a heck of a good job on $30,000. Raising two kids, making a car payment, house payment, paying medical insurance premiums, putting money in your 401K plan and even manages to save $3,500. You need to give lessons.

I love how everyone tries to tie the election in with religion, keep on making the false claim and rumor that Obama is a Muslim. What is this, high school? I hear stuff like that every day! For those of you who think that 9/11 was because of terrorists, I urge you to check out a little documentary called Zeitgeist at http://zeitgeistmovie.com, then maybe you'll see who the real terrorists are. Also, to Seth: Despite the fact that you and I differ completely on a lot of things, I like you. You fight with statistics and like to back up your arguments with well-built facts. From a Democrat to a Republican: High five, sir, high five.

You are psycho, "Crowley/Bush." Barbara Bush's father was Marvin Pierce (of McCall's magazine) & her mother (who got killed in a car accident in 1949) was Pauline Robinson Pierce. Why don't you read sometime? It's very enlightening!

Posted by: Margie on Sep 22, 2008 at 08:04 AM
"Viewer," we also have three children, a dog, a cat, & pay for our own health insurance. My husband makes half of that & I stay home with the kids. I have no sympathy for "Barley (which is a grain) Getting By." If they can't get their act together & live comfortably, then they need to re-prioritize. No where did I say that they were rich, but for this area they are not doing bad AT ALL.

Posted by: the Crowley/Bush era on Sep 22, 2008 at 01:22 AM
Barbara Bush is Aleister Crowley's daughter. Thus making George Crowleys Grandson!! It all started with Pauline Pierce (Barbara's mother) I'ts the truth! Nasty Evil Family. Wake up people!!! Google it!

Hoover? Uh, jump into the 21st. century, buddy. WV leads the nation in almost every undesireable statistical category, from obesity to toothlessness & everything in between. We are the most ridiculed & least respected state in the union. And yet, the democrat majority in this state re-elect Byrd & Rockefeller & Rahall & Mollohan over & over & over again. How is it working out for you, democrats? These fools don't even reflect your wishes; you vote for Hillary, & they endorse Hussein Obama, and without fear of political repercussion. They know you will vote for them again no matter what. Also, consider what a cesspool Huntington has become during the democrat Felinton's administration. The only logical conclusion to be made here is that the democrat rank-and-file aren't very intelligent people, who vote the way they do because it's the way daddy voted, or the way their union bosses tell them to vote. And it's truly sad how they reference Christianity yet support infanticide.

Posted by: geesh on Sep 21, 2008 at 10:15 PM
you are barely getting by? My husband makes around 30k a year we have two kids and a huge chunk of that money goes towards insurance union dues and our 401k and i can still say we are doing better then scraping by. High gas prices are bad i agree and in no way do i support bush or McCain but if you make that much and you are struggling that's on you. Our home is around 1400 square feet we actually moved in 2 years ago today i have a 2007 HHR n make payments jus fine. you are making almost 100k more then us and complaining? I want to know what are you spending your money on? I have also been able to put 3500 n savings this year by cutting back on unneeded spending such as eating out we bought school clothes at kmart instead of kohls this year. you have to make adjustments it may be unfair they way the economy is but the only one who can get you through it is you.

To Margie who thinks Barely Getting By is rich, think again. Barely Getting by has three children to raise and has to pay for their own heathcare. Barely Getting By should be able to live comfortable but by no means, are they rich. In the 90's, myself and my husband raised two children. We made about 60,000 dollars a year with combined incomes. We put them thru high school, college, provided a car for them. They both graduated with no student loans to repay. They now have good paying jobs. I would have to say Barely Getting By compares to the same wages of about 75,000 dollars in the 90's.

AS A LIFE LONG DEMOCRAT, I HATE TO SAY IT I CANR VOTE FOR A BLACK MUSLIM AND MY WIFE AGREES I MAY OR MAY NOT VOTE FOR MC BUSH BUT I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR A MUSLIM AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK. WOW WHAT A CHOICE A RACIST BLACK MUSLIM VS MC BUSH GOD HELP THIS COUNTRY , WE HAD A CHANCE TO BRING CLINTON BACK BUT THE DEMBE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY WENT WITH OBAMA BIN LADIN GOD SAVE THE REPUBLICK.

Posted by: Margie on Sep 21, 2008 at 07:41 PM
Barley Getting By, what a joke! If you make that much money & are not able to make it, then you have a serious problem with budgeting! And that is why I wouldn't be surprised that you would support Obama. You know what hungry & cold is? If you are hungry & cold you have issues & need to take some living skills classes. There are tons of people living on a whole lot less & are making it. Don't blame McCain for your inability to handle your own finances & life.

Been a Republican all my life. Had enough, switched parties, and actually contributed to a campaign for the 1st time in my life. I don't want the donation wasted trying to convince WV that is okay to vote for a black man. He'll never win WV and we all know why. (I'm a middle aged white woman, FYI)

I have one word to Seth. HOOVER. Add him to your admired Republician list. Oh, yes, you may want to consider Nixon.

Posted by: NurseNky on Sep 21, 2008 at 06:34 PM
All the back and forth doesn't matter. Obama is ahead in the polls and I would say that he will remain ahead....thanks to the failed polices of Dubya!!! McCain hasn't a chance.....Oh and by the way Obama doesn't have finacial advisors from Fannie or Freddie, the only person Obama has even had any slight remote tie to is a gentleman who ran Fannie Mae in the 1990's....I would advise most not to listen to McCains ads, nothing but lies. As far as McCains advisors...177 of them are lobbiest, big oil, big business....GO FIGURE!!!!!

Please!!!!!!!!!!!! Blame 9-11 on Bill Clinton??????????? I guess if you lose your job, it will be Bill Clinton's fault. Or are you on disability riding the system for all you can get?

A silver spoon? No, actually very humble and modest beginnings in a small Logan County town. But unlike many of my hillbilly brethren, I finished school and went to work. I do not require welfare, food stamps, WIC, a Habitat house, or government cheese hand-outs. I pay for my own health care and I'm saving for retirement. I am not envious of those who earn more than I do, nor do I feel entitled to what others have EARNED. I do not support the murder of babies in the womb, or the perversion of same-sex fornication, both of which are fundamental planks in the democratic party platform. To the fellow who disparages "my boy" Bush, well, you're an idiot. If Bush hadn't responded militarily after 9/11, you would be calling him a coward. Like it or not, Bush's leadership has protected this nation for the past 8 years, and the terrorists know it; remember bin Laden's call for voters to support Kerry, and Hamas & Hezbollah's endorsement of Obama? Fight stupidity democrats; vote McCain.

My husband and I have twenty years of college education between us. We both get up and go to work everyday. We have three children and stress everyday how important education is to have a better future to them. We make 100,000-120,000 a year. Yet with Bush in office we have not been able to save a penny due to gas prices and the everyday cost of living. Our home is very modest at 1600 sq ft. The cost of our healthcare for ourselves and our children cuts into half of our pay. Mr. McCain has no idea how many houses he owns. Houses as in plural. How can a man who is worth as much as him know what it is like for middle America. His party has made the cost of those who depend on gas to get to their jobs to stay off of welfare too expensive. Even if they ride the bus the fare itself is going up. McCain does not understand the plight of many WV because many of us don't have his bank account. We know what hungry is, we know what cold is what does this man know about WV? Nothing!

Is anyone aware that Obama's economic adivsors were in charge Fannie-Mae not so long age? I know one was fired, not sure if the other one quit or what. (Left with about 90 Million each) However, it seems they were the ones led to the eventual failure of the business. What kind of plan can they come up with that won't bankrupt the whole country? Obama is listening to them?

Posted by: MyMoney on Sep 20, 2008 at 10:43 PM
To The Ram, I like to choose whom I give my money to. For your information, each year I give more than $50,000 to charity. I give more than my share to my church in which I belong and I also take very good care of my church family. So, I do read the Bible and God blesses me and my family tremendously for doing His work. However, I feel that I should choose whom I give my money to instead of it being stolen from me and given to someone who has done nothing to earn it. Don't make assumptions about me when you don't even know me.

Hold your tongue there, Seth. You just called Carter the worst president in history. People in glass houses, right? Your man will go down as the worst, hands down. He is the shame of America, the one that botched it all. Give me a drunk, a fornicator, or whatever else, but please God, never another Bush!

Seth, that was one of the most offensive and unintelligent posts I have ever seen. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Posted by: Seth on Sep 20, 2008 at 07:41 PM
Why all the Bush bashing? Since 2001, there has not been a terrorist attack in this country; would you have thought it possible on 9/12/2001? I admire the president, and I am thankful he has led our nation these last. Eight years. I suspect liberals hate him so is because they have no leaders as determined as Bush, as intellectual as Cheney, or as brilliant as Rove. The best democrats can offer are drunks (Kennedy), impeached fornicators (Clinton), adulterers (Edwards), KKK alumni (Byrd), militant homosexuals (Frank), and carpetbaggers Rockefeller & H. Clinton.) Include the worst president in history (Carter) and the delusional "inventor of the Internet" (Gore), and you have quite a collection of idiots indeed. Adding an obviously confused and mentally challenged muslim (Hussein Obama) to the mix would add even more shine to the minimum wage/welfare party, I suppose, but he will never be elected. Prepare to welcome President McCain. Oh, and be sure to thank President Bush.

In light of the previos bailouts and govt. control of these companies, I have come to the conclusion that we will get UNIVERSAL health care with both candidates. McCain said to the Contingencies magazine in the virtues of his healthcare plan.."Opening up the health Insurances market to more vigorous nationwide competition, AS WE HAVE DONE OVER THE LAST DECADE WITH BANKING, would provide more choices fo innovative products less burdened by the worst excess of statebased regulations...DEFINE IRONIC... If his plan were in effect right now, the Fed would have had to take over the health insurance companies therefore giving us UNIVERSAL, or Federally insured healthcare.

As a Republican, I am very disappointed in McCain's VP pick and knowledge about the economy. He should have picked Romney for some economic advice and credentials. Even though I don't agree with Obama on some issues, I do feel he has better ideas and advisers in our most important issue: the ECONOMY. For only the third time in my life (Clinton twice), I will be voting for a Democrat for president because of my family's financial problems.

Thanks for jogging my memory on that Marshall Law declaration. I can't believe I had forgotten something that was so important. I believe you are correct in your assumption that Obama will not win and if there are any protests, the military will keep us in line. I continue to be amazed by the overwhelmingly racist comments posted on WSAZ.

I am totally shocked at the way so many Obama supporters are getting on here and talk trashing the state of WV. If Obama doesn't feel the need to come to WV, why should he be supported here. I am so sick and tired of hearing that he is only going to raise the taxes of people making over 250,000 dollars. For the type of government expansion he is advocating, trust me, All will see tax increased to pay for it. Even if we were to believe him, don't think for a minute you won't pay for it somehow, as these corporations will have no choice but to pass along there increases to you. Not to mention the loss of jobs that will come with it. Pie in the sky sounds good, but believe me, you will pay for it.

To Larry, Sept, 19, 5:29 pm, Barack is a semetic word meaning "To Bless" or "Blessing". Hebrew spelling-Barac. Hussein is a semetic word meaning "Good" or "Handsome". Mr. Obamas middle name is in honour of his grandfather, Hussein, a SECULAR resident of Nairobi. Your name, Larry, comes from Lawrence, Latin in origin, meaning Laurel Crowned. Derived from an area that was abundant in Laurel trees. Hope this helps.

More stupid West Virginians! Your ignorance, and prejudice are becoming your downfall...McCain means more corporate socialism payed by you, then on top of that, more tax cuts for the rich No health care, Money for big Oil, and his campaign lobbyists etc. Obama should not waste his time coming to WV. You will have to suffer for 4 or even 8 more years first.....Wake up and read more and question all of them, and what they say before you choose on Nov. 4.

You so-called good folks, stop with the lame excuses for not at least consider what Obama may have to offer. The country needs change, did you know that the vast majority of Obama supporters are White Middle Aged Men? Oh! I forgot, you racists would not know that!

Posted by: New on Sep 20, 2008 at 07:26 AM
Why would he visit a state that he knows he is going to loose anyway? The logical thing to do would be to go to the one's he needs to win. WV is a McCain state. If I was him, I wouldn't waist my time here either.

You need to leave the Democratic party and be Republicans if you believe that way. They are the party that uses the poor white man as a pawn in their game. This poor white woman "aint" falling for it. You people amaze me. You probably interpret the bible literally and believe the earth is only thousands of years old. How then do you explain dinosaurs? I bet not one of you can say that you have never worked with a person of color but you have hidden behind your masks knowing how you feel about People of color. I had hope that was a dead issue. In stead of focusing on the issues you fall back on fear and the unknown. So So Sad

Dear NurseNKy, I happen to be in the income bracket of 250,000 or more and I must say I'm am just about sick and tired of bailing everyone in this country out who don't want to do their share so I have to do it for them. Who is bailing who out?!?!? Give me a break! I've never needed anyone to bail me out nor will I ever. But I would like to keep a little bit more of my money for a while instead of giving it to someone who did absolutely no work whatsoever for it.

Why do you people believe the lies. Barack Obama is a christian, not a muslim. If you look at the economy, the war and shipping jobs over seas, you will support Obama. He doesn't want to take our guns, only remove the AK47s from the gangs in the cities, not the shotguns or rifles from hunters. This region is so prejudice and believes the lies. I'm a middle aged white man, but I am supporting Obama ! You should too !!

Think the republicans will let Obama win the election ? Bush enacted legislation in 2006 to declar marshall law in the event of a national emergency and use the military to control the population . He tried to postpone the 2004 presidential election because of terrorist activity .Now we have a real national emergency our financial markets are in ruin and the banks wont be far behind .When people want to get out their deposits they might face what I did in the late 80s when the Savings and Loans failed , I had money in Silverado savings and loan ran by Neal Bush the presidents son ,my money was held in limbo for months by the Resolution Trust corporation a federal agency that was put together to handle that disaster . They wouldnt even answer the phone when I called . I left messages for months this is 100 times worse . the republicans put us in wars on 2 fronts crashed our economy and stold billions and West Virginians think Obama is a muslim thats mass hysteria !

the middle man wants to b^$*0 about when is he going to get his break? Well, now his/her oppurtunity could well be in site and they let race stand in their way. Like he mentioned about McCain wanting to give Exxon a 4 billion dollar tax cut when they just had record breaking profits of 12 billion. What's that all about? Like Bush doesn't have ties with the Laden family. Like Bush getting the laden family out of the US "for their own safety" after 9/11. What's up with that?

Posted by: Trish on Sep 19, 2008 at 08:40 PM
I have read all these postings. Many of them are sad, but the people who made them are probably so determined to be negative toward Obama that they do not want to know the truth. The truth: Obama is not a Muslim (proven fact, again and again, and easy to check out); he will lower taxes for all Americans making under $250,000 per year; he wants to invest in clean coal and other energy strategies that will help WV; he played basketball with the troops when he visited the Middle East, he just didn't get "camera time"; Carol's "attitude" remark betrays her racism; Obama is careful to respect Hillary, which is why he simply states that Biden was better for him; the people who have a hard time voting for a biracial man ought to think long and hard about why they prefer to be worse off in order to hold onto their prejudices. What does it get you?

Posted by: Charles on Sep 19, 2008 at 08:36 PM
I cannot believe that any one opposes Obama because of his name, and those who believe that he is a Muslim is misinformed further more he is a very intelligent man. I am concerned that he does not have more experience, but basically I agree with the policies that he advocates. On the other hand McCain is basically a good person, however, I strongly disagree with his policies never the less he has Annie Oakley has his running mate. She is obviously not telling the truth about many things and in my opinion she is not attractive. In the primary we supported Hillary but my family and I will vote for Obama.

From your comment its easy to tell you are on welfare and open for all handouts. Get a job. I don't like paying for your chicken. Its people like you that bring everyone down. We should be giving our money to people that need it. ( cancer research, Ronald McDonald, even animal shelters) Obama will make sure his people that have nothing will get all the freebies.

Where do you work at? Do you have dental and health care thur your employer or thur the taxes payers? Jimmy you need to vote for Rep. There is some that shore don't need them. Nurse NKy some people are not smart enough to think about the economy. Guns are more important & bailing out the rich then paying their bills, going to school,a job, Maybe all the rednecks and NcBush need to pay more to help the rich out and pay higher gas prices and let us Obama people have break from all this high gas prices and taxes I agree with Ruth get out and work hard for the Obama/Biden ticket. Obama isn't Muslim. People need to get the facts, not the chained emails the republicans send to all whom they(the republicans)think don't have the mentality to know what the truth is. Just like the chained emails about how the democrats will take your guns, make a you muslim, and turn you gay. Give me a break.

Posted by: J. on Sep 19, 2008 at 05:35 PM
I can't believe the ignorance and racism expressed in these comments - he's NOT a muslim, and even if he was, would it really matter? Frankly, I'm tired of evangelical Christians attempting to control the country - religious belief of any sort doesn't belong in legislation.

Posted by: LARRY on Sep 19, 2008 at 05:29 PM
I HAVE ONE QUESTION? IS OBAMA HUSSEIN A MUSLIM NAME OR NOT. THIS IS THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION FOR SO MANY OF US RURAL DEMOCRATS WHO VOTED FOR HILLARY LIKE ME AND MY WIFE.

Well this just fills me with absolute joy that Senator Obama is going to visit the region, I've always wanted to see him speak in person and actually get a chance to meet him. I'm a senior in high school but I won't be eighteen until December, so I can't vote but he'd have mine if I could vote. Personally, I can't stand the idea of having McSame (see what I did there?) in office with Palin ready to take his spot if he died, I know a lot of people are attracted to her by looks, but why not look deeper? She asked a local librarian how to get certain books banned. That's like asking your local butcher on how to become a vegetarian! It's not Palin that's got me worried, it's the fact that McCain has agreed on 90% of what Bush has passed. With G. Dubya being a fiscal conservative and ruining the economy like he has with his multi-billion dollar war and McCain being just another brick in the fiscal conservative wall, think what will happen. Until November, I say Obama 2008. See ya there!

Dear Redneck Democrat. Please get out of our party. You are useless if those are your beliefs. You need to be a Repugnican: that's what THEY believe. Read a book sometime, hey?

Posted by: NurseNKy on Sep 19, 2008 at 02:48 PM
Look at what is happening to our economy. If you aren't affected by the McBush policies now, you will be when you and I start fitting the bill for the bail out of the rich once again...... Im glad though, because they are giving themselves just enough rope to hang themselves. Im just glad that social securtiy wasn't privatized like Bush/Mccain wanted. There would be none. Do you think Bush/Mccain would push for a bail out of your 401k retirement going belly up? Ask those who were invested in ENron. Bush Mccain policies have created the mess we are in now. Republicans have had control up unitl recently, so who is to blame? A vote for McCain is a vote for Bush policies. MCCAIN IS A FLIP FLOP. Does he or does he now support the current policy?? The only change he would bring to the White House is his face.

I will vote for Obama. He is going to give me free stuff. He will rob from the rich and give to the poor. I like that, I dont want to work hard to be rich, I would rather get my free stuff. I will be waiting with open arms for my free chicken and ice cream. I love being a democrat..

Before you solidify your opinions on Obama's leadership, integrity, knowledge and character, take a moment and review his book, "Dreams from my Father" then visit the Trinity Church of Christ's website(his church for more than 20 years). the writings of James Cone and Rev. Wright will give you some insight on what kind of "training" Barak has where Mr. Cone states that Christianity and whiteness are a "contradiction of terms". and you've had to have heard the ramblings of Mr. Wright by this time. So you check this out, and then get back to us on just who is the racist. And don't say, "He just went there. He can't control what they say." You don't go to a church for 20 years, site the Pastor as one of your greatest influences, and then say you never agreed with any of them. And you can't say, that's not the guy I knew. Mr. Wright has been preaching this same message for decades now.

Posted by: Mike on Sep 19, 2008 at 11:21 AM
To DS: You might want to go back and watch the video again. The statement by Michael Wooten was correct as far as barack has stated his policy. I believe barack should listen to the question before spouting off at the mouth. Its funny to watch barack in an interview, he knows his policies are so far out there that he is on the defense on every question. I don't think the interview was tough at all, the questions that need to be answered by barack, are those concerning his friendship/dealings with terrorist William Aires and the shady dealings with the "Indicted" Tony Recoe". Need to go to Fox and watch his interview with O'Reilly he was asked a few of the tougher questions, and while he still couldn't give straight answers, it was funny to watch how mad he got by just being asked. He truly feels he is the "Anointed One" and is above having to answer to the American people.

With our State government caving in to industry cries for the very deregulation that has brought this great nation to its knees, why would you waste most of the interview whining about when Barack is coming to WV to campaign again. Clearly it was the compromised media that helped land us in Iraq and is now leading readers astray by ignoring the real issues and wasting time with non-issues in an attempt to imply Barack doesn't have time for WV. Barack remained gracious even while fending off a hostile interviewer.

Posted by: Sam on Sep 19, 2008 at 09:47 AM
With a 26% showing in "Almost Heaven" for some whites - why even ask the good Senator why WV isnt a priority. In the long run...he will not need the redneck or WV vote to be POTUS! Thank you God

I can assume that most people who post blatantly ignorant remarks about Barack Obama obviously know nothing about his political plans for our country. You already have it in your minds that you're voting for McCain-go ahead put another Republican in office; you'll be sorry to be sure. It really is sad how a lot of West Virginians I know are so ignorant regarding Obama. It's 2008. Let's start looking at the candidates and shed the prejudices, people. Dealing with the blind prejudices of others is quite sad and embarrassing..to say the least. I'm voting Obama/Biden. I'm ready for real change and a person with integrity with whom we can believe in. Join our fight for hope!!

Posted by: anotherobamagirl on Sep 19, 2008 at 09:29 AM
I'll be voting for Obama and I don't need him to visit WV to make that decision. What does that really have to do with anything? I'm voting for the best person to run the country, not West Virginia. OBAMA '08 Think people... read the candidates' plans and make informed decisions. I don't want to call people ignorant or stupid because of which candidate they support, I just think people should GET INFORMED! Barack Obama all the way to the White House.

I thought I was the only one who thought Michael Wooten was biased. I have thought this for a long time. It was shown in how he cherry picked the info from the Tax Policy Center. People need to go there to see how Obama's tax plan benefits the middle and lower class more. McCain has sold his soul to the devil(the far religeous right). We the people knew our economy was in trouble several years ago. We saw our disposable income deminish due to rising health insurance prices and healthcare. All the while, Insurance co. and Drug co. were making record profits. All of the income growth has been at the top of the economic level. It is time that it is shared. It seems to me that with 95% of us with more money in our pockets ti spend would stimulate the economy more. Investing in renewables means more jobs. Just look at mtn. top removal of coal. We had apx.150,000 coal miners. Now, about 25,000. Not to mention the environmental impact. The next big world issue will be clean H2O.

Posted by: Anonymous on Sep 19, 2008 at 09:14 AM
Voting for Obama because he's black is just as bad as not voting for him because he is black. Votes should be based on issues and how well we believe a person can run our country. Obama, I believe, is more interested in power. That's why he was visiting with leaders of other countries overseas instead of spending quality time with our troops. Basically, what sums it up is: Obama is of forgein decent, he's not patriotic and he after power. I heard him announced on TV as future leader of the world. Sounds like the Anti-Christ to me. I'll be voting for McCain/Palin.

1/3 of this interview was spent on when Obama will return to WV. What a wasted oppurtunity.

Posted by: Dan on Sep 19, 2008 at 09:10 AM
Michael Wooten: Sen. Obama put you in your place. Why would the American citizens vote for another "Bush". Look at the past eigth years. McCain's pockets are getting fat because he in with the big oil companies. Vote for someone who is for the AMERICAN people and NOT the Big Oil companies. VOTE OBAMA in Nov. Quit looking at his skin color, religion etc. and look at what is important: He is for the AMERICAN people. Obama will get my vote.

Everyone kills me with the whole racist thing! Get over it! It is not about the color of his skin! Has anyone ever thought about the safety of our country??? He is muslim and does not even know how many states we have here in the US! He turned his back to our flag during the national anthem! He is one of the very people we have been trying keep away from our country! Maybe people should start researching this man a little more, before they start voting for him just because of his skin color!!

This white, "Wal-Mart" mom will be voting for Obama in November. It's a true testament to his strong following that he's leading in the polls despite media coverage that is biased to favor McCain. They are giving Palin a pass. They made a big deal about a hacker accessing her e-mail account, and barely mentioned that she was using the Yahoo account to conduct state business. To me, that is a much bigger story, as everyone knows her state e-mail can be monitored, while Yahoo cannot--totally inappropriate. Now her husband refuses to comply with the suponea, and the McCain campain is stalling the 'Troopergate' investigaton until after the election. People are beyond nuts if they vote for this corrupt pair. Nothing she has said is completely true--like the 'Bridge to Nowhere.' She supported it, then when it was apparent she couldn't anymore, she kept the money and used it for other pet projects.

The republicans have now crashed the economy with deregulation of our financial markets , think this is a tempory event ? within months life will change in America .McCain is no stranger to this sort of thing , he was one of the keating five who had close ties with charles keating , he ran the lincoln S&L of california and made questionable loans to friends ond others . when it was all said and done keating bilked billions from depositers and was sent to prison for five years , it was always thought ronald reagan arranged for a lite sentence . John McCain was considered keatings closest friend and used his private jet on many occasions , he recieved campaign money in excess of 100k and vacationed with keating on 9 different trips . Barack Obama scares the republicans and many West Virginians are opposed to his race in truth theres a good chance now that he will win . The republicans have done so much harm it will be difficult repair it with Obama as president for 8 years !

BEWARE of McCain's party! Sarah Palin is a supporter of the movement to have Alaska separate from the Union! She doesn't even want to be part of the United States!!! How can we elect someone like that to the VP position? She could be the end of the USA as we know it!

The comments of so many citizens of this state have been horrible towards Obama. The attacks against him are sadly rooted, because most people are looking at the color of his skin and not at his leadership, integrity, knowledge, and character. And the fact that Michael Wooten took a personal shot at Barack during the interview was a good example of smearing journalism at it's best. It is so obvious that Wooten is a supporter of McCain and he was using this opportunity to try and call Obama out on a subject by making an untrue statement about his tax plan for the middle class. It is sad that a local reporter had to prove, if very slyly, that he is into 'biased journalism'. I don't blame Obama for not returning here, though it was commented on by ZP that he has been here several times before. Great job, Michael. Obama/Biden '08

Posted by: Jonathan on Sep 18, 2008 at 11:49 PM
ZP, Obama made two very quick visits during the primary. John McCain didn't because the race was already over.

Posted by: Pat on Sep 18, 2008 at 11:43 PM
At this stage of the game, if Obama does not already have his state visit plans made, how can he possibly have a plan for our country?

Posted by: Rose on Sep 18, 2008 at 11:38 PM
He sure is good at dodging questions! I loved his answer as to why Hillary Clinton wasn't chosen as his VP running mate. He didn't even answer! Informative interview...NOT!

Posted by: Mike on Sep 18, 2008 at 11:19 PM
It's sad that Barack doesn't even know his own tax plans. Although once corrected his memory was jogged as to what he'd been saying. Paying more taxes is not patriot just because one may have/make more money, as his blundering VP nominee state today. What needs done is to control wasteful spending on failed programs and pet projects, decrease the size and control the Federal government. Its is no secret that Barack wants even bigger government, and raising taxes on "the rich" will still not be enough so all of us will be paying more taxes in a short time.

Posted by: ZP on Sep 18, 2008 at 11:18 PM
McCain has only been to West Virginia once during the general election, am I right? Obama visited the state three times (that I remember) during the primary season and I don't remember but can't find any info on McCain visiting during the primaries at all.
