Two Killed in Athens County Crash

NELSONVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) -- A 2-car crash on US 33 Friday afternoon in Athens County killed two people and seriously injured three more, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The driver of the first car, 19-year-old Jacob Webb of Willoughby, Ohio, and a passenger in the other car, a 24-year-old from Virginia, were both killed.

18-year-olds Rodney Hynd, Jonathan T. SvigeI and 19-year-old Shawn B. Rolnis were all taken to Grant Hospital in Columbus by helicopter.

One of the vehicles went left of center and struck the other.

The name of the second person who was killed is not being released until family can be notified.
