MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The former head of the education program at Lakin Correctional Facility is headed to prison for having sex with an inmate.
Standley Greene, 44, was arrested in 2008, accused of having sex with a female inmate.
Greene was indicted for the crime last year, and in June 2012 pleaded guilty to felony sexual imposition of an incarcerated person.
Thursday Greene was sentenced to 1 to 5 years in prison for the crime.
Forty-year-old Standley Greene was arrested Wednesday by State Police after he agreed to turn himself in at Mason County Magistrate Court.
The Charleston man was released after posting $5,000 bond.
Greene has not worked at the correctional center since allegations were made that he had sex with an inmate on Aug. 22.
Department of Education spokeswoman Liza Cordeiro says Greene was originally suspended with pay, but was suspended without pay on Sept. 24 following a separate investigation by the department.
There was no telephone listing for Greene in Charleston.
