KANAWHA CITY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A late night trip to get some fast food from Taco Bell in the Kanawha City area of Charleston, W.Va., landed a Boone County man behind bars.

State troopers say Jonathan Ball was waiting in the drive-thru lane. When the vehicles ahead of Ball moved up, he sat still.

A trooper went to check on him and said he discovered Ball asleep at the wheel with a strong smell of alcohol coming from the car.

After Ball woke up, troopers say he failed a sobriety test and was arrested.

I thought that's why Taco Bell stayed open late, to feed the drunks!!!

see now the cops are trying to gather data on passing gas to see if they can charge more people and taco bell is a great place to start

its a good thing they caught this guy before he went thru the drive-thru, we could have had another jose cruz gas passer running loose. the cops must have stepped up the bean patrol.

Taco Bell and drunk just go so well together like peas and carrots. I love getting some TB when im drunk even if i have to walk and have someone else buy it for me!!

Posted by: Scott on Oct 3, 2008 at 11:39 AM
Victor, you're a silly goose. Just go to Speedway and get a slimy hot dog. Or better, go to Sam's Club and stock up on some frozen chimichangas...mmmm...

Ever been to the Taco Bell on 5th Ave in Huntington between 2 and 3 AM? It's packed, traffic is literally backed out on to 5th Ave. I guarantee 95% of those served had been drinking (and driving). Sadly, there is also ALWAYS an officer there! You know, I'm all for reducing drunk driving, but, if you were a dumb college kid and you knew you could drive right past an officer while intoxicated and not get caught, would you be at all inclined NOT to drink and drive?

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 3, 2008 at 11:09 AM
Victor--the "right" thing would be to not drink at all. To say that Taco Bell encourages drunk driving shows your level of intellegence. Pablo--well said!! Thank God there are officers out there checking for idiots who drink and drive. If you think it's not a big deal, check out duihope.com. The victims are rarely the drunks, they are the inocent.

thats why i go to McDonalds they serve drunks all the time.madison and logan are number 1 and 2 on the list.

NOW THAT WAS SOME FUNNY STUFF

Posted by: HaHa on Oct 3, 2008 at 09:34 AM
Poor Victor. Here's a thought.. stay at home and fix your lazy, drunken self something to eat.

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 3, 2008 at 08:26 AM
victor, thats called public intoxication!

true i got drunk on night and decided to have a freind take me to the late night drive through and i decided to get out and smoke and the manager actually opened the window and told me that i had to get back in the car before he could order if she can open the window why can she take the order..........

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 3, 2008 at 08:13 AM
encourages drunk driving???! wow - the fact that this moron went to get fast food while under the influence blows my mind there need to be more checks by police for intoxicated drivers every night.

Posted by: Just me on Oct 3, 2008 at 08:11 AM
This is so sad, hillarious, but sad. Should have had a peanut butter sandwich and called it a night.

Posted by: Pablo on Oct 3, 2008 at 08:00 AM
Another fine example of our law enforcement people doing an excellent job. For all you cop bashers out there, if this officer hadn't checked this guy out, the drunk may have very well injured or killed someone on the road (maybe you or one of your loved ones). Think about that a little more before you bash the police.

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 3, 2008 at 06:55 AM
Well if Taco Bell would hire people with a high school education or at least a GED, people wouldent have to wait 20 minutes at the drive-thru to even fall asleep, nothing but uneducated idiots taking there sweet blank time!

Posted by: Victor on Oct 3, 2008 at 12:10 AM
Well, Taco Bell won't let you walk up to the window and order late night... I was drinking one night and decided to walk to one. Manager said I had to be in a car. Try to do the right thing and get refused service. Never been back to one since. IMHO, they encourage drunk driving, vs. serving a hungry customer late night.
