Man brutally beaten in Huntington

The victim of a brutal beating in Huntington is now home from the hospital, but it's expected to take him several months to fully recover.

Police say Ted Rose found someone trying to steal his truck on 3rd Avenue Tuesday. That's when Rose was attacked and severely beaten. Officers arrested Josh Smith and charged him with robbery, malicious wounding, and crimes against the elderly. Rose is 68 and Smith is 24.

Rose's wife says she can't contain her anger against Smith. Smith is being held on a $300,000 cash bond and he declined comment from jail on Friday. Rose will have to go through several reconstructive surgeries after the swelling in his face has gone down.
