Huntington Arcade Revival

You always hear people talk about the "good old days.” Some people refer to that time for downtown Huntington. It was a time when storefronts and shops were full of business. But now, one group plans to bring new life into a forgotten part of downtown.

Priscilla Spence has a passion for downtown Huntington, especially the Huntington Arcade on Fourth Avenue. In fact, she works for a new business known as the Arcadia Group. It's goal is to bring interest back to the arcade.

And a Saturday afternoon in June is a wonderful time for a wedding. Well, a bridal show.

Joanna Brewer is with Rocco's restaurant. She says the Huntington Arcade is almost as pretty as their wedding cakes.

In its hay-day, downtown was the place to be, and people went there to get their goods. But today, things have changed. Shopping malls have become the new downtowns, and downtowns have to change the way they do business.

It was an event that many people hope will bring new life back to downtown.

The group says they hope to make the bridal show a bi-annual event, and they are planning a masquerade ball in September.
