A local company offered what it calls a "last, best and final offer" to employees Monday.
But union workers at Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center have rejected the contract proposed by track management.
The dog track's 189 union workers will stay on the job under a contract extension when the current agreement expires at 4 a.m. Wednesday.
The union represents about one-third of the track's staff, including tellers, housekeepers, floor attendants, dog handlers and maintenance workers.
Talks are scheduled to resume July 5.
Main issues are pay and health care benefits.
The track offered a three percent pay raise over three years.
