Police are still trying to find out why a man killed himself in an office building lobby on Quarrier street. It turns out the man did this only moments before his arraignment on sexual abuse charges.
It all happened just after 9AM Wednesday morning on Quarrier Street. Police tell us Kenneth Davis was alone in the lobby when he shot himself.
"It's rare that you see a suicide in public place like that, usually it's in a home or a vehicle," said Sgt. S.A. Cooper , Charleston Police.
Kenneth Davis has been in the news before. He was charged last year with having sex with an underage girl in his home in South Charleston. He was the girl's babysitter. Davis was supposed to be arraigned at 10AM Wednesday morning. Police say he shot himself 45 minutes earlier. It's unclear why Davis was even in this particular building.
