A spokeswoman confirms Enron Founder Ken Lay died in Aspen, Colorado. The Associated Press says that Lay died of a heart attack. A Houston television station is reporting that Lay was admitted to the Aspen Valley Hospital overnight with a massive coronary.
On May 25th, the jury in the Enron case found Lay and former Enron Chairman Jeffrey Skilling guilty of conspiracy and fraud. Lay was convicted on all six counts against him and skilling was found guilty on 19 counts of conspiracy, fraud false statements and insider trading. The two were scheduled to be sentenced later in this year.
Lay was 64.
