Throughout the Kanawha Valley heavy showers created all kinds of flooding problems.
Anytime there's heavy rain you have to be very careful when you are driving through water because it’s hard to tell how deep it is. One man learned the hard way.
It was just too much, too fast and the water had no where to go.
In South Charleston the road under the Rock Lake Bridge was completely impassable.
Emile Baltimore said it was too late once he realized the depth.
Emile Baltimore told use what happened. “I saw the water flood in and got out of the vehicle. When I got out of the car it was midway to the door.”
He left the scene to change clothes, but never thought he'd come back to this. His car was completely under water.
What makes this so deceiving is that you don't realize how deep the water is.
The owner of that BMW says it's disappointing but adds that's why you pay for insurance. It's a mistake hopefully others can learn from.
