UPDATE 12/7/06: Charleston Police arrested Housein Keaton during a traffic stop. Officers say he tried to give false information, but they figured out it was him. He's currently in the South Central Regional Jail.

What would you do if someone barged into your home and attacked you? That question has probably crossed your mind--but it's reality for two people on the west side. Police need your help to track down the suspect.

The Charleston Police Department has named Housein Keaton one of Charleston's Most Wanted. Detectives say he busted into his ex-girlfriend's apartment at Orchard Manor a couple weeks ago.

When she tried to get away, police say Keaton chased her down and dragged her back inside by her hair and continued to beat her. She was seriously hurt with a fractured vertebrae and broken foot.

Police say Keaton also hit a man sleeping on the couch in the head with a lamp.

"Mr. Keaton is a dangerous person," said Detective Brian Jones with the Charleston Police Department. "He's been convicted of unlawful wounding. He was already indicted and is going to trial on another malicious wounding [charge] and also a felony possession of a firearm."

Housein Keaton is 23 years old. He hangs out in the Dunbar-South Charleston area. Call the Charleston Detectives at (304) 348-6400 or 348-6480 if you have any information about Keaton.
