The Clay Center, the Ballpark... now a new apartment complex! These apartments aren't for just anyone but they will bring new life to a long-abandoned piece of property in Charleston’s east end!

About 25 apartments will be for CAMC residents and doctors completing their training here, at West Virginia’s largest teaching hospital.

CAMC workers searched the city and found what they were looking for right outside the hospital's window!

The plan is to have the apartments ready for new medical residents by this time next year. Right now the long-abandoned Thomas Jefferson Junior High isn't fit for man or beast, but the block on Morris street in Charleston’s east end is about to get a make-over.

Right now the Charleston Medical Center Housing Corporation is seeking bids for demolition that could get underway in the next couple of months.

Dr. Jason Prigozen, “I think it will be good for families in particular when on call, work quite a bit.” The rest of the neighborhood says it is ready to roll out the welcome mat for the new residents.
