SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- When it comes to Halloween, who says you get too old to dress up and dance the night away?

Saturday night some senior citizens did both at a Halloween dance party at the Little Creek Golf Course Clubhouse in South Charleston.

"I love to dance, always did," dancer Ramona Hall, who was dressed as a nun with a black mask, said. "I like fast (music), but I can't dance like I used to."

"It keeps them young at heart, out there dancing and enjoying themselves out there," Charles Swigger, the deejay of the evening, said.

"This is real good exercise, and you've got to keep going," Hall said.

"One thing I like about it is watching the people as I'm playing different types of music, how they get out there and enjoy it, especially when they're having a bad day,” Swigger, who was wearing a Grim Reaper costume, said. “When you play a good song, they forget about their problems when they come in here. It's all about having a good time."

The dance was hosted by the South Charleston Community Center. These dance parties aren't limited to Halloween time. They have also held dances in the past with different themes such as the 1950's and Hawaiian.
