Helping Small Business Owners Get Started
Reaching out on your own and starting a small business can be a tricky process, especially in a shaky economy. Officials in Prestonsburg, however, are doing something to help.

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Reaching out on your own and starting a small business can be a tricky process, especially in a shaky economy. Officials in Prestonsburg, however, are doing something to help.
More than half of small businesses are home-based businesses. Prestonsburg officials said they are helping independent owners get on their feet by offering $10,000 low interest loans to encourage people to open their own shops.
City officials said they will will use the three percent interest rate to buy the owners business signs.
