Dreamland Pool will Close Temporarily

Dreamland Pool Closed Temporarily

Dreamland Pool will be closed temporarily on Wednesday and Thursday, July 19th and 20th, for refilling of the pool and for minor maintenance and repairs.

A representative of the Wayne County Health Department notified Managers at Dreamland Pool at approximately 4:00pm today, July 18th, that the water quality had fallen below acceptable water quality standards since his visit to the pool earlier in the day. Dreamland Pool was directed to increase the chlorine levels and improve the level of water clarity.

An emergency meeting of the Kenova Parks and Recreation Board was convened at 6:00 p.m. at Dreamland Pool. As opposed to treating the existing water in the pool, the Board directed the Pool Manager to drain the pool and refill it with fresh new water over the next two days. This decision was made to assure the public that water quality is a top priority at Dreamland Pool. The Board also directed the Pool Manager to install the new filter covers and perform minor maintenance and repairs. The Board apologizes to the public, especially given the current heat wave in the area.

A festive weekend is scheduled at Dreamland Pool July 21st through 23rd with such events as a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, Miss Hawaiian Tropic Contest and large inflatable games
