The Cabell County fair starts next week and they're not relaxing the dress code just because of the hot temperatures. Fair organizers want people to dress to stay cool. But the rules require what you wear to be "family friendly.

Some teenagers were dressed O.K. for walking the streets of Huntington today, but only one of them has enough on to meet the dress code for the Cabell County Fair. The park in Milton has a strict shirt and shoes policy but the fair board also has other rules that require underwear and certain body parts to be covered.

They're also on the lookout of explicit words or pictures on shirts and tattoos. It's all to promote what the park board calls a family friendly environment. These are the types of exposing outfits that have been a problem in years past, and the rules apply for both girls and guys. Many parents we talked to say they like the rules.

But that's an opinion shared by the fair board, the dress code is subjective and if you're not sure exactly what to expect. Organizers it's kind of like the covered bridge at the fair, you know what looks good when you see it.

The dress code has been in place for the past four years. But the policy is getting more attention this year because the rules are displayed more prominently on all fair handouts promoting the event.
