Metheny's Car Found

Melanie Metheny has been missing since Wednesday. And on Sunday, there were new developments in the case of the missing mother of three, as family and police head into day five of their search with little to go on, but their belief in finding her is still strong.

It's a discovery both police and family are hoping can help. Police say Melanie Metheny’s van doesn't appear to have been stolen, but it's clear she was at one time inside.

Neighbors say it's been in the 500 block of Delaware Street on Charleston’s west side since Wednesday at 2pm. More than six hours since the last time anyone saw the 21-year-old.

On Sunday, friends and family continued their search in the eastern part of Kanawha County.

Each one is running on empty, but not losing hope. So as a family continues to push on in their darkest hour, the hope is the answer to Melanie's disappearance was found in broad daylight.

The Sherriff’s Department is in the process of searching Melanie’s van for fingerprints or any other clues in this case.

If you have any information in the disappearance of Melanie Metheny, you are asked to call the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department at (304) 357-0169.
