PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Huntington woman has been indicted for her role in a bizarre armed robbery in Teays Valley.

Instead of targeting a business, Kelly Steinbrecher allegedly held up an illegal poker game. Steinbrecher and Jacquelin Dennis got away with between $18,000 to $27,000. The two women had guns during the incident.

Dennis pleaded guilty to the robbery and is serving 25 years in prison. A date for Steinbrecher's arraignment has not been set.

You can take someone back to court for not paying, but that doens't mean the judge will do anything! I have been going to court every month for over 4 years. He has been in contempt every month and he never gets into trouble! That still does not make what she did right! She was WRONG and should serve the time! It is not an illegal poker game unless the house gets paid.

Three of the five players have paid fines and been placed on probation, two of them are fighting it. As far as why Jackie took it into her own hands and didn't go after him with a lawyer...have you ever tried to get back child support? This state sucks in helping parents get the support owed. I'm not saying what she did was right or very smart but everything I've seen on this situation noone has ever reported the connection and I just think people should know there was more to it.

This country is so stupid! How is it fair for the robbers to be charged but not the poker players. Theres obviously some favoritism. I hope all the big wigs go down to.

She did not use the money for child support that she stole. She said that she used it for drugs. Don't bring the little kids into this. Not to mention she fled for about 2 weeks.

well, it is about time !!! . Poor Jackie has spent a year in jail with her partner out free on bond. Hopefully, she will get the same as Jackie. She might just get her memory back and tell on the others who were involved. I would think the girls had a little help from inside the game.

Has anyone been indicted for operating an ILLEGAL poker game? This doesn't seem right.

The persons name is not Kelly..The proper name is Kimberly Steinbrecher.Don't you think you should at least get the name right?

its pretty sad that the dad had money to play poker but didn't have money to pay child support and jackie had to take matters into her own hands to get help in providing for her kids. if the system did what it was supposed to, then the children of jackie wouldn't have been thrown in the system because their mother is in jail now

Just remember, two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.

Her husband was'nt playing solitaire. Did the whole table owe her child support? Why should they have to pay into a pot for his misdeeds. I'm not an attorney, but I'm sure that one would not have advised her method of obtaining delinquent payments in this method.

Hmmmmm if the guy had money to gamble in the proportion he appears to have been gambling then he definitely has money to pay his child support. Did this woman not know she could take him back to court without a lawyer for contempt (lack of support payments) is contempt of court if he had a court order to pay child support. All she needed to do was go to the court house and file. This would have been much better then going to jail and now who will care for the children while she is in the pokie? Where was her brain at while this was going on? She must not have thought this all the way through or she really didn't plan on getting caught.

If it was an illegal poker game did the person reporting the robbery get arrested? How dumb do you have to be to report a crime while committing a crime?

Posted by: anon on Nov 15, 2008 at 12:34 AM
why target a business when the child support owed was from Jackie's exhusband, who was on of the poker players
