It's summer, it's hot, the chance for pop up thunderstorms happen daily. It all adds up to potential power outages. Often you sit in the dark waiting for help.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the folks at AEP have the power to inform you about your power.

In those situations AEP says it's ready with on call employees. It didn't used to be this sophisticated. AEP advertises its sophisticated practices through promotional videos and its performance. The AEP call center opened less than ten years ago in 1997. In its first year it took 1.8 million calls. Last year it took 4.6 million. The numbers keep growing.

It's an effort to make your experience in the dark less stressful down to every last detail. AEP also has a computer automated reporting system for power outages. It's a computer taking your information but it sounds like a human. That way you can get your information reported even faster.
