Investigators are working right now to find out why a Carter County brick plant foreman died in a shop accident Tuesday.
The owner of Hitchins Refractories says Roy Newland Junior was working at a clay mixer and some how, fell in to the machine.
The coroner says the 34-year-old man died instantly of multiple blunt force trauma.
Employees say Newland was a seasoned plant veteran and the machine is now shut down for a full safety investigation.
Roy Newland Junior is survived by his wife and three children.
