GARRARD COUNTY, KY (WSAZ) -- A man who was shot to death by Kentucky State Troopers in central Kentucky was from Greenup County.
KSP says 24-year old James Adams of Oldtown shot at officers after a car chase through three counties. That's when troopers fired back, killing Adams.
According to a news release, the incident began Saturday morning in Jessamine County when deputies requested state police assistance to pursue a vehicle.
The chase entered Garrard County where a trooper unsuccessfully tried to stop the car using a tire deflation device.
Investigators say Adams then rammed the rear of another officer's car and opened fire. Police returned shots, killing Adams
Police have not said what started the car chase.
One deputy was inured when a bullet grazed his hand and struck him in the shoulder. He was treated and released from a local hospital.
