Mark Allen Starcher faces up to three years in prison for allegedly shooting, dragging, and then tying up a dog to a steering wheel. The incident happened last year.
The prosecution is expected to call several witnesses to the stand Wednesday to describe the gruesome death of the dog. Starcher told police he shot the animal after it bit him and with the permission of the dog's owner.
If convicted -- Starcher faces up to three years in prison.
