Former Federal Court Judge Dies
Former Federal Court Judge Robert Staker has died.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Former Federal Court Judge Robert Staker has died.

Staker, who was 83, died Sunday at nursing care facility in Huntington.
Staker was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter. He retired in 2005.

Before becoming a District Court Judge, he was a Prosecuting Attorney and Circuit Court Judge in Mingo County.

Staker was born in Kermit.

Funeral services for Staker will be Thursday at Enslow Park Presbyterian Church in Huntington.

Mr. Staker was my landlord for sometime years ago. He was an Honest, Hardworking man and my prayers go out to his family.
