WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Despite a recent break-in at Buffalo Elementary, the community is rallying to ensure the holiday season remains joyous.

Vandals and thieves walked away with electronics equipment, money and gifts intended for needy children. Kind strangers have responded by donating many items, prompting some to say the criminal act possibly was "a blessing in disguise."

More than 100 needy children will benefit from the kindness of strangers.

While the school system had some video of at least one of the suspects on security camera, no one has been arrested.
