BRANCHLAND, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man arrested on a parole violation gave up the information police needed to crack a kidnapping case.

Shannon Blankenship admitted to State Police he was the man who kidnapped an employee of a gas station when he was committing a robbery. It happened back in September.

It all happened at the Speedway in Branchland.

Blankenship then drove the woman about two miles north on Route 10 before she was able to convince him to let her go.

He's been charged with armed robbery, abduction, sexual abuse and being a felon in possession of a gun.
