KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A mother and daughter have been arrested after the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office says they hit the School Resource Officer at Riverside High School.
36-year old Tina Williams of Cabin Creek is charged with battery on a Police Officer, resisting arrest, obstructing an officer, disrupting School and Assault on a school official..
Her daughter is charged through juvenile court with four counts of battery on a Police Officer, resisting arrest, and obstructing an Officer.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident began around 11am, when officials and teachers at Riverside High School discovered a fight taking place in the girl’s bathroom.
School Resource Officer, Sgt. B.D. Reynolds responded with the teachers. During the commotion, a 15-year old female student started causing a disturbance with staff, became belligerent and began cussing at one of the teachers.
The 15 year old female student was escorted to the principal’s office and was suspended for her behavior and aggression toward a teacher. The school staff then called her mother to come and pick her up.
According to deputies, her mother, Tina Williams, arrived at the school a short time later. Deputies say she became upset and also started causing a disturbance. They say Williams then attempted to search the hallway, making threats and looking for the teacher.
At that point, Sgt. Reynolds stopped her and escorted the mother and daughter out of the building.
While outside, officers say the mother refused to leave and tried to get back in the building. Sgt. Reynolds placed her under arrest and attempted to handcuff her.
While attempting to do that, the Sheriff’s Office says the mother and daughter approached Sgt. Reynolds and punched him in the face. Sgt. Reynolds then had to physically fight with both the mother and daughter. Additional deputies, Belle Police and WV State Police also responded to assist Sgt. Reynolds.
Eventually, both mother and daughter were handcuffed and taken into custody. Both will be arraigned later this afternoon. Sgt. Reynolds received only minor injuries

Ok!!! I have read enough. There is two sides to every story. First of all, this is not the first incident that has happened at riverside. The mother was leaving to go to the state police detachment at quincy after she saw the video and had also called 911 because the resource office/kanawha county sherriff would not take a report about the teacher grabbibg and shoving her daughter in the hallway from behind. This is not hear say this is what the mother saw on the video! When the mother was outside of the school, the officer told her to come back in the school because they didnt want the media involved. So, think about it!!!This entire incident happened outside. Its not the parent it was rhs trying to cover up another incident from the media. To the mother, did u have a visitor pass? and did you sign in? I bet you didnt. Also, the daugher wasnt in the fight. If she was this big threat, why would they let her upstairs to get belongings of her daughters. Was there a lockdown?no!!

I believe that they should just go ahead and put the daughter in a Juevenile Facility until she is of age. I have been told from one of her friends mothers that shes aready tried to kill someone and she has overdosed on pills at her old middle school. Im sure thats not the only time she has overdosed. But i do agree with C. it isnt where your from, its who raised you. If the mother was the same way and lived in California then she would have raised her daughter just like she would of in Cabin Creek. And the same thing could have happened down there. and i also agree that you guys do look stupid when you argue with people on here. Do you not have better things to do then sit at a computer and wait for someone to say somthing about your comment.
