HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police say a fast food worker was doing more than just cooking pizzas.

Ronell Terrence Buckner was busted tonight at a local pizza shop charged with selling OxyContin.

Investigators brought out the Huntington K-9 unit to help search Buckner’s apartment in the 600 block of 11th avenue.

There they say they found a large amount of oxy and some cocaine.

Buckner who was on home confinement for a previous drug charge lives within 500 feet of Southside Elementary, which can mean a longer sentence.

Neighbors recently tipped off the Huntington drug and vice unit, and they called in the State Police and FBI on the investigation.

Way to go Larry. Thank god someone else realizes treatment is a joke unless you really want it. More prisons = less thugs on the street!

It is clear that this property owner and this landklord did nothing to screen this tenant's background -- a known drug history and home confinement? How can any responsible property owner allow this to move into anyone's neighborhood -- especially one with a grade school one block away! Landlords and property owners - get some responsibility other than padding your own pockets!

Arrest them all, 95 percent of the crimes in the area are drug related. Locking them up is the true rehab and the true answer to the crime problem. Build more prisons...

Nancy... Suboxone is heavily abused. It doesn't solve any problems. It's similar to methadone, how you take a person's addiction from one drug to another. If you're just going to change what someone gets high on, why not just let them stay high on what they got in the first place. Hopefully someone will take your posting and better themselves with it, but chances are, it will just be abused like everything else.

I agree with Connie. I think we should have the death penalty for drug dealers. They are murderers in a round about way. At the very least they are assisting in suicides. If the government started executing them I guarantee people would think twice about selling drugs.

This guy was only in this apartment for less than a month! I think this sends a strong message to drug dealers that the South Side will not tolerate DRUG DEALERS!!! Stay out of our neighborhoods and our cities!!!!!!!!!

i want my money

Posted by: Anonymous on Dec 19, 2008 at 02:11 PM
My questio is why does it take a year long investigation to get someone other than hpd wasting are tax paying to catch a year later it makes no sense to me.

Posted by: Anonymous on Dec 19, 2008 at 02:04 PM
Good another hard drug dealer off the streets, keep focusing more on things like this, and less on Cannabis HPD! One more thing, South side elementary is not even a functioning school yet, so i do not think he should be charged for selling in a school zone.

What pizza shop were they busted at?

Posted by: sad on Dec 19, 2008 at 11:45 AM
they never said what shop it was.

Posted by: to Anon on Dec 19, 2008 at 11:39 AM
they're in huntington, THAT'S why they figure they won't be caught lol

Posted by: Heather on Dec 19, 2008 at 11:27 AM
Why don't they mention the pizza shop? I thought that employers were suppose to screen their employees, especially in money and/or driving situations. If he was on home confinement, then he clearly has a record.

If the owner of this property had responsibly checked this person's background, maybe the school children and the neighbors wouldn't have been exposed to this.

Posted by: Anonymous on Dec 19, 2008 at 10:11 AM
Did he work at Papa John's? If not then they still have one or two arrests to go.

Posted by: Anonymous on Dec 19, 2008 at 09:42 AM
Big surprise. What do you think drug dealers on house arrest do? Umm...deal drugs. Wake up home confinement officers, the coffee is brewin'.

Posted by: Connie on Dec 19, 2008 at 09:39 AM
I believe that the courts ought to make these people pay for their crimes instead of letting them out just because they may have info. on someone else.WV needs the death penalty back. If you can't see how the crime has picked up over the years because we have no death penalty then you are blind. These people have no fear just for the simple fact that they know there is no real punishment.

Goes to show you that home confinement does not work in it's current fashion. I propose some changes. 1. Put a sign in the front yard stating that the convicted person is on home confinement and the number to call if you suspect something. 2. The home is randomly searched for illegal substance. The convicted person must agree to this as part of the sentence. After all jail cells can be searched at any time. 3. A log must be kept of visitors to the home. If a site visit is made and a visitor is there, but not on the log, off to the pokey. These punishments are not meant to be a joke. They should be a serious deterent, while saving money. If that goal isn't met, start putting them in jail.

Can you tell us what Pizza place he worked at? I want the large pizza with ham, bacon and painkillers.

Posted by: Susan on Dec 19, 2008 at 08:11 AM
obviously home confinement doesn't even work. Send them to Siberia and make them work for a living!

Posted by: JOSH on Dec 19, 2008 at 07:51 AM
HE WAS PROBABLY RELEASED SO QUICK THAT HE GOT TO EAT HIS PIZZA BEFORE IT GOT COLD.MORE TIME = LESS CRIME.

Posted by: larry on Dec 19, 2008 at 07:41 AM
The addiction to the drugs is stronger than the fear of prison..You start doing oxy or crack cocaine, you might as well put a gun in your mouth and get it over with...

Posted by: me on Dec 19, 2008 at 07:07 AM
Darn there goes my pizza with everything..
