The west side of the city of Ripley, West Virginia spent much of Monday afternoon in a shelter-in-place due to a substance leak near the site of the new Super WalMart project.
State officials identify the substance as z-tag, a product used to keep dust down on roads. The substance came from a truck on the parking lot of the property. A clean up crew is on the way to clean it up. The Department of Environmental Protection is also sending a crew.
This took place near a place called Ripley Plaza on the west side of the city. Workers and students at WVU-Parkersburg told us they were involved in the shelter-in-place.
