PIKE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Emergency crews in Pike County, Kentucky, are searching for a missing 19-year-old man who troopers think fell into the river.

It happened Thursday near North Mayo Trail in Green Meadows.

According to a news release from the Kentucky State Police, Joshua Jerome Tessmer was last seen Thursday at about 4:15 p.m. by his father at their home.

Tessmer's hat was found near the bank of the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River behind his house. Troopers believe alcohol may be involved, but foul play is not suspected at this time.

Tessmer has blond hair cut above the ears and blue eyes, a tattoo of a cross on the back of his left shoulder, and is about 5'11" tall and weighs 190 pounds. He was last known to be wearing blue jeans, blue Nike tennis shoes, and a dark Carhart jacket.

Troopers are asking anyone who might find evidence of Tessmer to contact them at (606) 433-7711.
